GENERAL


After inspecting the track prior to the running of race one, stewards deemed the track surface in the 850m chute to be unsuitable for racing following significant rain in the previous 24 hours. The distance of race one was extended to approximately 1010m. All trainers were advised of the change of distance and had the opportunity to scratch. Race 1, 2 and 3 were rescheduled accordingly: race 1. 1:45, race 2. 2:20 and race 3. 2:55 to allow the track to be rolled.

Apprentice I. Rabjones was injured during track work, and was unable to fulfill raceday engagements, riding changes were made as per Stewards’ Summary Sheet.

App. A. Van Der Sanden failed to produce a doctor’s clearance from Toowoomba 15/08/15 App. A. Van Der Sanden was given an opportunity to obtain a clearance however was unable to do so. Therefore was stood down from her engagements and riding changes were made accordingly as per Stewards’ Summary Sheet.


RACE 1: NOLAN VALE/SO LEAN, SO TENDER AUSTRALIAN BEEF Class E Handicap 850m
1st – Mim’s Gallery 2nd –Minto’s Lass 3rd – Craiglea Wise 4th – Omittance

Stewards accepted Trainer A. Hayward request to scratch MARREW MIA due to the change of distance and was declared a late scratching at 1:00pm.

Start was further delayed for RUN ‘EM RAGGERED to be re saddled.

BROWN LINES- Hung out rounding home turn.



RACE 2: NAB MORE GIVE, LESS TAKE QTIS Maiden Plate 1030m
1st – Shoulda to Shoulda 2nd – Friend’s Come First 3rd – Basilisk 4th – Craiglea Rush

Stewards accepted Trainer Bailey’s request to remove pacifiers from BASILISK due to the track conditions.

CRAIGLEA RUSH - Layed in in the home straight.

VISION AND VALUES - Stood flat footed and lost considerable ground.


RACE 3: PAT & MARIE NOLAN Class 3 Plate 1170m
1st – Special Rose 2nd – Pretty Kitty 3rd –Beyond the Storm 4th – My Bella Syn

Start was delayed form PRETTY KITTY to be re-saddled.

GEN WHY - Begun awkwardly with head in air and lost considerable ground.

SPECIAL ROSE- Over raced middle stages. Restrained from heels at the 900m.

RACE 4: NOLAN PRIVATE SELECTION BenchMark 55 Handicap 1470m
1st – Fasta Than Light 2nd –Klisnroc 3rd – Casa Ciello 4th – Celtic Dragon

HENRY’S CROWN- Jumped away awkwardly.

FASTA THAN LIGHT - Slow away. Taken in by another runner near the 600m.

FRISCO RAIN- Had to be checked near the 600m losing considerable ground.

SO RIDICULOUS- Had to be checked of heels near the 600m losing ground.


App S. Alam, the rider of SON OF WARRIOR pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that near the 600m he allowed his mount to shift in taking FASTA THAN LIGHT in on to FRISCO RAIN having to be checked losing considerable ground. App S. Alam’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period commencing midnight Saturday 22st August 2015 and to expire at midnight on 4 September 2015. App. S. Alam was advised of his rights of appeal.

RACE 5:NOLAN GYMPIE MUSTER CUP OPEN Handicap 1600m
1st – Noogoora Burr 2nd – Storm Magic 3rd – Foregone 4th – Ferment

BLAZE TO FORTUNE - Correct weight was delayed for App. B. Derbyshire to view the patrol film to see if her mount was denied a fair start. After viewing the film Stewards were of the opinion that the gelding had ample opportunity to begin and was declared a runner.

FERMENT – Jumped awkwardly with head in air.

DAYUAN – Jumped awkwardly and lost considerable ground.

Mac’s Addiction – Weakened leaving 400m. Rider J. Missen reported that he believed the gelding did not handle the track conditions. Trainer S. Tregea agreed with rider J. Missens comments.
