Stewards inquired into an incident which occurred near the 1300 metres resulting in WINDSOR GOLD being severely checked and FRANLYLE and HAYLEE MAREE both being tightened for racing room. After taking evidence from Jockeys J Long, C Lennon, D Simmons and G Kliese it was established that at this point of the race when CORONATION JOURNEY (G Kliese) had improved to the outside of FRANLYLE (D Simmons), HAYLEE MAREE (C Lennon) and WINDSOR GOLD (J Long) those runners had been tightened marginally and a shift had occurred simultaneously from the inside which exacerbated the situation resulting in an overreaction from WINDSOR GOLD. Stewards were of the opinion that no individual rider could be held responsible for the incident and took no action other than to advise Jockey G Kliese to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
