General
Due to a misunderstanding, Jockey F Edwards was engaged for 2 events when ineligible to ride at today’s race meeting. In the circumstances, Stewards were satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Edwards, and took no further action. Replacements were made as per Race Day Summary.

Race 1: TRUENORTH EQUIPMENT HIRE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1460m

MISHANI TSUNAMI – Raced ungenerously passing the 1300m.

OCONEE (NZ) – Raced wide from the 1000m.

MISHANI PATRIOT - Raced wide from the 1000m.

Race 2: BILL (CODY) PRIZEMAN MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1460m

INDIAN DANCER – Made contact with a gate post when exiting the mounting yard, sustaining a wound to the nearside hip. Inspected by the Veterinarian and was a late withdrawal at 2.39pm. Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight Stewards ordered that all monies wagered on the gelding be refunded in full and further that all successful wagers placed on the event prior to the time of scratching be subject to deductions of 8 cents in the dollar win and 8 cents in the dollar place on the face value of the betting ticket. Trainer Mr T Clive was advised a Veterinary Clearance will be required prior to next race start.

SHOCK ZONE – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.

Race 3: COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1000m

DJEBEL READY – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. Severely checked in the home straight.

AUXIN – Shifted ground inwards approaching the 100m inconveniencing a runner following. Jockey D Smith pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provisions of AR131(a) in that passing the 80m he directed his mount outwards, under riding, onto the running of DJEBEL READY (S Sheargold) resulting in that mare having to be severely checked and losing its rightful running. Jockey Smith’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 18 days to commence November 3, 2021 up to and including November 20, 2021. In assessing penalty Stewards were considerate of Jockey Smith’s guilty plea, his recent record in relation to the rule, and the degree of interference and carelessness, both of which were deemed to be in the high range.

FRATELLINO – Had to be restrained approaching the 100m to avoid the heels of another runner which was shifting ground.

HIT SNOOZE – Raced wide for the majority.

Race 4: RUSS REGUSON MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1000m

AMUTHON – Unable to muster pace in the early stages after being very slowly away. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

DUITCH ROCKET – Shifted out abruptly on jumping inconveniencing runners to its outside. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Jockey D Simmons who reported he had sustained what appeared to be a minor injury to his left foot on exiting the barriers was examined by QAS Officers who diagnosed soft tissue damage.

KAHUNA – Tightened between runners on jumping.

NORAH – Tightened between runners on jumping.
