Race 1: Kenny’s Auto Electrical Class 1 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – BUCKANARA 2nd – LITTLE VICTORIES 3rd – AMAZING MOSS 4th – FASHION KURV

AMAZING MOSS - Stewards permitted D Ballard to ride the gelding 2.0kg over its declared weight when no other suitable rider was available.

EPIC CAMEL - Stewards permitted J Long to ride the gelding 1.5kg over its declared weight when no other suitable rider was available. Bumped with another runner shortly after the start. Jockey reported that the gelding had raced ungenerously for a short distance on straightening due to resenting the kickback.

LITTLE VICTORIES – Jumped away awkwardly. Bumped with another runner shortly after the start.

BUCKANARA – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

PUMPED UP KICKS - Bumped with another runner on jumping.

Race 2: Hughenden Hardware Maiden Plate 1200 metres:
1st – SMOOTH MOVING MAMA 2nd – HELOW TUCKER 3rd – SILVER BOWS 4th – MOJAVE ROYALE

SWEET DANISH - Stewards permitted D Ballard to ride the mare 4.5kg over its declared weight when no other suitable rider was available. Stood flat-footed at the jump and failed to take any competitive part in the event. Trainer was advised that the mare would be required to obtain one (1) barrier certificate prior to being permitted to race again.

OLLIE OOBA – Jockey reported that the gelding dipped passing the 700 metres.

CUMULOUS CLOUD – Was slowly away. Jockey reported that the mare had failed to handle the track conditions and had been inclined to race ungenerously throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare had sustained an injury in running to its off hind. Trainer was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the mare being permitted to race again.

Race 3: Great Western Hotel Class 3 Plate 1200 metres:
1st – CRACOW 2nd – TEN TORINOS 3rd – SPECK OF GOLD 4th – BACKTOSPEC

Following the running of this event Stewards took submissions from Jockeys J Long and J Felix as well as Starter Mr D Jones in relation to the circumstances of SPECK OF GOLD and BACKTOSPEC starting from incorrect barriers. After considering all available evidence Stewards issued reprimands to both J Long and J Felix under the provisions of AR128.

ONYA DUSTY – Bumped with another runner at the start. Jockey reported that the gelding dipped near the 600 metres and was inclined to race ungenerously for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

SPECK OF GOLD – Bumped with another runner at the start.

BACKTOSPEC – Bumped with another runner at the start.

TEN TORINOS - Jockey reported that the gelding dipped passing the 700 metres.

Race 4: Hughenden Five Star Supermarket Open Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – STEINBERG 2nd – SURPASSER 3rd – LIGHT WARRIOR 4th – MONTH OF SUNDAYS

SURPASSER - Stewards permitted D Ballard to ride the gelding 1.5kg over its declared weight when no other suitable rider was available.

MONTH OF SUNDAYS – Jumped awkwardly, shifting in abruptly shortly after the start.

ZED MAN – Was slowly into stride.

STRUMMING – Was eased out of the event near the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had sustained an injury in running to its near fore. Trainer was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.


Race 5: Royal Hotel Resort Benchmark 55 Handicap 800 metres:
1st – DESERT SWEEP 2nd – COWARDOFTHECOUNTY 3rd – VILLAINOUS LASS 4th – BAR QUEEN JOJO

BROTHER BOB - Stewards permitted D Ballard to ride the gelding 5.0kg over its declared weight when no other suitable rider was available. Lost significant ground at the start after anticipating the jump and making heavy contact with the barrier gates.

DON’T TALK SILLY – Was slowly into stride. Jockey reported that the gelding was reluctant to stretch out in the early stages due to resenting the kickback.
