Race 1: SID SADLIER MEMORIAL/INGHAM TRAVEL QTIS Maiden Plate 1100 metres:
1st – SONIC BOOM 2ND –HAPPY TO BE HERE 3RD – POWER UP 4TH – CITY CHAT

MARINE ON PARADE was a late scratching at 12.40 p.m. when no suitable rider was available.

Jockey S.McGovern replaced Jockey M.Morris as the rider for CITY CHAT when Jockey Morris failed to arrive at the track by the prescribed time. After being questioned regarding the matter Jockey M.Morris was reprimanded under the terms of AR91 and advised to be on track no later than 45 minutes prior to the advertised starting time in future.

POWER UP - Shifted out abruptly at the start.

WIDGEE LAD - Blundered as the start was effected losing ground.

CITY CHAT - Eased off heels at the 800 metres.

An inquiry was held into the reason for HAPPY TO BE HERE (Jockey P.Cullen) being severely checked approaching the 600 metres. After taking evidence from Jockey P.Cullen and Jockey J. Long (ONYA MISS), it was established that ONYA MISS which was over racing had shifted in from a 3 wide position obliging the rider of HAPPY TO BE HERE to check. After considering the matter Jockey J Long was granted the benefit of a grave doubt that he had not ridden carelessly and allowed ONYA MISS to shift in when not clear of HAPPY TO BE HERE. Stewards noted that prior to this incident ONYA MISS was racing a little ungenerously.

Race 2: CAVALLARO LEONARDI ACCOUNTANTS Class 3 Plate 1000 metres:
1ST – ANZUS 2ND – FIGHT TO GLORY 3RD – MOLONGLE DREAM 4TH – DON’T TALK SILLY

DON’T TALK SILLY – Difficult to load. Trainer K.McGovern was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding.

MOLONGLE DREAM – Raced wide at the 500 metres.

Race 3: BUNDABERG RUM/TREBONNE HOTEL Open Handicap 1000 metres:
1ST – STARLISTIC 2ND – SERGEANT SHRIVER 3RD – FIVE O’CLOCK 4TH – ARCATRAN

No Racing Incidents.

Race 4: EQUINE SOLUTIONS/WILMARSUGAR Class B Handicap 1200 metres:
1ST –FIERY JEST 2ND – COLLIDE 3RD – WINDSOR GOLD 4TH – MOUNTAIN LANE

BELLE I AM was a late withdrawal at 12.40 p.m. when no suitable rider was available.

Following submissions made by Trainer R.Finch SPIN AGAIN was permitted to race without Blinkers.

COLLIDE - Approaching the 650 metres had to be steadied off heels.

MOUNTAIN LANE - When questioned regarding the performance Jockey G.Kliese advised that MOUNTAIN LANE had was up in class in today’s event and whilst the mare raced consistently on most occasions, he stated that MOUNTAIN LANE appeared “sour” and failed to race as expected. The explanation of Jockey G.Kliese was noted. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 5: ZEST FINANCIAL SOLUTIONS Benchmark 70 Handicap 1400 metres:
1ST – RHYTHM ‘N’ RAP 2ND – CRACOW 3RD – SHERIDAN 4TH – ZATSACAT

MY GIRL CHARLIE - Knuckled over at the start and lost ground. A post-race veterinary inspection revealed no abnormalities.

NAIL ‘EM - Raced rearward and failed to stretch out during the event and finished a considerable distance from the remainder of the field. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer Ms C.Hurle was advised the geldings future starts would be monitored.
