Race 1: Pease Park Maiden Plate 900 metres:
1st – CRAIGLEA ALDI 2nd – WILL HE TORQUE 3rd – BOO BOO SNITZEL 4th – BOLT ON BY

STRICT SPEED – Was slowly into stride.

MAYBE I’M AMAZED – Was slowly into stride.

WILL HE TORQUE – Was slowly into stride. Shifted out abruptly, despite the efforts of its Jockey Ms. S Wiseman,approaching the home turn, inconveniencing another runner. Jockey Wiseman was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of AR137A for whip use on 7 occasions prior to the 100 metres, twice more than permitted under the rule. Stewards were mindful that this was Jockey Wiseman’s first infringement under the rule.

SAY LA FI – Was inclined to race ungenerously in the middle stages. Shied away near the winning post from another runner which was inclined to in under pressure.

BOLT ON BY – Was inconvenienced by another runner which shifted out abruptly near the home turn. Was inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.

Race 2: Radio 4KZ Class 1 Handicap 900 metres:
1st – HOPEFULLY GOOD 2nd – ZOE BAY 3rd – MAN OF BUSINESS 4th – HOTEL SPLENDIDO

On returning to scale Jockey S Wilson who rode 2nd placegetter ZOE BAY made application to view the Stewards patrol footage of the event. After viewing the footage Jockey Wilson lodged an objection against HOPEFULLY GOOD ridden by Jockey S Kaya being declared the winner on the grounds of excessive use of the whip prior to the 100 metres. After considering evidence from both Jockeys as well as Trainers Mr. A Molino and Mr. A Bailey, and reviewing all available patrol footage Stewards aknowledged that, from the evidence provided, Jockey Kaya had used the whip on HOPEFULLY GOOD on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, however bearing in mind the manner in which both horses ran to the finish inside the final 100m and the margin of a short neck Stewards were of the opinion that the objection could not be sustained, and declared correct weight on the judges numbers. Jockey S Kaya was subsequently issued with a reprimand under the provisions of AR137A.

MAN OF BUSINESS – Was slowly into stride.

HOTEL SPLENDIDO – Was slowly into stride.

AHOTONE – Was inclined to hang out in the early stages.

Race 3: Shed Boss Class 3 Plate 1200 metres:
1st – STARLIGHT BELLE 2nd – TIERES ROCK 3rd – HYDRIVE 4th – MIDNIGHT SONG

AUSSIE JEWEL – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

MIDNIGHT SONG – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

KISSER - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Was wide at the home turn.

STARLIGHT BELLE – Was inconvenienced when crowded between runners soon after the start. Was inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.

DRAGON HART – Was inclined to race keenly in the early stages. Was wide at the home turn.

HYDRIVE – Was inclined to shift in under pressure down the running.

Race 4: Innisfail Advocate Ratings Band 0-45 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – SOTTERO 2nd – BACKTOSPEC 3rd – BIG TOMEE 4th – MONSOON TWISTER

NO IFS OR UTS – Was slowly into stride.

THE HURRICANE – Was slowly into stride after jumping awkwardly. Hung out for a considerable distance near the 600 metres placing Jockey Ms. S Wiseman at a disadvantage. Trainer Mr. T Rowe was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

BACKTOSPEC – Near the 1000m, despite the efforts of Jockey P Cullen, shifted in away from another runner and inconvenienced the runner following.

SANDBAR JACK – Near the 1000m was inconvenienced by another runner which shifted in.

Race 5: Cassowary Coast Regional Council Benchmark 45 Handicap 1500 metres:
1st – BUSH VERSION 2nd – FILLE VILAINE 3rd – SMALL CHANGE 4th – PROUD WARRIOR

ONEEYED UNDERTAKER – Lost ground when unable to muster pace in the early stages.

MEADOW DREAMER – Had to be checked when tightened between runners which were shifting ground near the 1300 metres. Was inclined to race ungenerously for a short distance thereafter.

MAKING HEADLINES - Shifted in under riding near the 1300 metres, when not quite clear crowding another runner. Jockey K Stone was instructed to exercise more care in similar circumstances. Jockey K Stone was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR137A for whip use on 7 occasions prior to the 100 metres, twice more than permitted under the rule.

PROUD WARRIOR - Shifted out near the 1300 metres, when not quite clear crowding another runner. Apprentice Ms. N Nelson was instructed to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
