Permitted overweights:
Race 5 – S. Pawsey (Koheeto) + 1.5kg
 
As jockey M. Abe was unable to make the permitted overweight of Miniest (Race 2) he was replaced by apprentice I. Teh. When unable to make the allotted weight of Race 3 (Kid Mac) he was permitted to ride the gelding 1.5 kg over when no other rider was available, Race 5 (Forseti) he was permitted to ride the gelding 1.5kg over when no other suitable rider was available. M. Abe was fined the sum of $500 under the provisions of AR190(3).    
 
Race 1: CENTURY CRANES / THE GARRADUNGA HOTEL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP
– 900 Metres    
 
SHEEZ MARVELLOUS – Slow to begin and shifted out bumping BUWAN on the hindquarters.

BUWAN – Bumped on the hindquarters on jumping and was unbalanced.  
 
FILLY SLATER – Laid out in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slow post-race recovery.
 
MASARED – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
SIR ROLAND – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 2: BROTHERS LEAGUE CLUB INNISFAIL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 900 Metres                 
 
MINIEST – Trainer P. Rowe was severely reprimanded in that he failed to comply with a steward’s directive and apply for permitted overweight for the filly by the appropriate time. Inconvenienced at the start.  
 
ACCTORIES – Trainer T. Rowe was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of AR206(2) In that he presented the gelding with blinkers. As this was its first race start and had previously trialled in this gear stewards permitted this gear to be raced in. Inconvenienced at the start.  
 
AIR FORCE ACE – Began very awkwardly and shifted out inconveniencing runners to its outside.
 
BALLROOM BOSS – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.
 
WITTSTOCK – After being slow to begin was then inconvenienced shortly after and lost ground. Finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow post-race recovery.
 
DREAM LUV – Inconvenienced at the start.  
 
Race 3: CAIRNS HARDWARE / QMAC MACHINERY CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
 
DEECATH – As jockey S. Sheargold was dually engaged he was replaced by N. Nelson.
S. Sheargold pleaded guilty to a charge under AR127(1) and was fined the sum of $300.
 
HEADLANDER – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SNAP CHAT – Laid in near the 1000 metres despite the efforts of its rider tightening the running TOUCH OF BALI which was checked.
 
TOUCH OF BALI – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Tightened for room and checked near the 1000 metres and lost ground.
 
KID MAC – Raced wide without cover. Finished tailed off. Rider M. Abe reported the gelding put in an awkward stride soon after entering the home straight and for that reason he did not pressure the gelding to the line. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Race 4: CANADIAN CLUB JOHNSTONE RIVER/COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER
OPEN HANDICAP – 1200 Metres
 
GDANSK – Bounded in the air on jumping. Lost its off-fore plate during running.
 
FAST TRAIN – Jockey S. Pawsey advised stewards the gelding travelled well in the early and middle stages but was unable to sprint with the field when the pace quickened approaching   the home turn.    
 
 
 
Race 5: BOQ / ALBERTS EST 2017 / MICALE CABINETS TRAINERS CUP BENCHMARK
60 HANDICAP – 1500 Metres
 
FORSETI – Stood flatfooted and lost considerable ground. Trainer S. Potiris was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.  
 
LET'S CONQUER – Wide early stages.
 
EAGLE EYE STAR – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race.
 
Race 6: CORAL COAST FINANCIAL SERVICES INNISFAIL CUP OPEN HANDICAP – 2000

HEIRBORN (NZ) – Began awkwardly.

SALSA DREAMING – Made the 1500 metre crossing awkwardly.

THE BEAT GOES ON – Raced wide for short distance in the middle stages.
