FUZZY MELON – Slow to begin.

FORDYCE KNIGHT – Hung in near the 200m and was inconvenienced when racing close to heels.
Race 4: Ipswich Park2Park Maiden H'cap – 1350m
JAGNIWAS – Steadied from heels near the 400m.
LAKOTA SIOUX – Bumped on straightening and then hung out for the remainder of the race.
SUMAN THE YAK – Raced 5 wide throughout.
DE MELKA – Raced 4 wide throughout.
MR MOONBEAM – Apprentice S. Fawke reported the gelding hung out badly today from the 600m and made the home turn very awkwardly. He was of the view that this was due to the horse, which had its first 2 starts at the Sunshine Coast, seemingly having difficulty getting around the tight circuit today. Apprentice Fawke said in the straight due to it hanging he was unable to ride the horse out to the best of his ability. Trainer Mr J. Meagher confirmed MR MOONBEAM would have gear changes before its next start and he would endeavour to have him return to racing at a bigger track.
Race 5: Transit Australia Group Ipswich Festival Cup Class 6 H'cap – 1666m
WHAT A GAL – Slow to begin and then failed to muster speed in the early stages.
TIRARRI – Steadied from heels near the 1200m when overracing.
Race 6: RT Edwards F&M Ratings Band 0-70 H'cap – 1350m
ISAVENGER – Declared a late scratching at 1.40 pm after being injured in its race day stall.
Race 7: Ramsay Plumbing And Drainage Pty Ltd CG&E Ratings Band 0-70 H'cap 1350m
VICTORVETO – Pulled hard in the middle stages.
ST ANDREWS – Hung in and proved difficult to ride in the straight.
Race 8: Programmed Property Services CG&E Class 3 H'cap – 1200m
GAME THIEF – Became fractious after being boxed and reared up in the barriers and became momentarily cast. The gelding was removed from its stall, examined by the veterinary surgeon and declared fit to start. The saddle on GAME THIEF then required readjustment, which resulted in a significant delay to the start. Slow to muster speed.
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, jockey J. Byrne (TRUSTEE) made application to have the gelding declared a non runner on the grounds that his mount was denied a fair start. After viewing the film, stewards were of the view that whilst TRUSTEE was slightly fractious, it did have every opportunity to jump with the field and therefore the application was denied. As a result of beginning awkwardly, TRUSTEE lost considerable ground.
Race 9: St Edmund's College Cup F&M Class 3 H'cap – 1200m
Due to a misunderstanding, J. Lloyd was nominated as the rider of Red Diamonds. J. Byrne was substituted as the rider of that mare.
HIDDEN PLEASURES – Declared a late scratching at 12.34 pm after trainer L. Stratton advised stewards that the mare had a high temperature.
WIDOW'S WALK – Marginally slow to begin.
HIDDEN ROSE – Momentarily held up on straightening and then was hampered near the 100m when WIDOW'S WALK (S. Fawke) shifted out. S. Fawke was advised to exercise more care.
AMAIZING DRAGON – Rider dropped his whip near the 200m.
