Race 1: Celebrating A Decade Of Optus Partnership Maiden Plate – 2200m

PUT YOUR HANDS UP – Shifted out abruptly near the 1600m when overracing making the first turn.

SHEZ EKTRAORDINARY – Jockey M. Cahill explained he had been instructed to ride his mount a little more aggressively in a position near midfield. He added that shortly after the start he endeavoured to ride the filly in accordance with instructions, however was concerned he may be caught wider than he should and therefore made the decision to ride hard in the early stages to cross to a position outside the lead at the first turn.


Race 2: Queensland Times Class 4 H'cap – 1200m

MISS ZIZOU – Hung out in the straight and proved difficult to ride.

ROMBA TOM – Jockey G. Colless reported the gelding did not feel comfortable at any stage of the race and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Connections advised that consideration would be given to retiring the horse.



Race 3: Schweppes Maiden H'cap – 1350m

BRIGLIADORO – Blundered badly at the start, almost dislodging its rider.

CELEBRITY GARDEN – Bounded at the start and lost ground.

BROCSON – Slow to begin.

SPUR FORTUNE - Restrained from heels near the 1100m and allowed to shift in when barely clear. Then overraced badly in the middle stages and shifted out near the 900m. Jockey L. Rolls pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that inside the 200m he shifted out from behind the heels of GREY NOT BLACK whilst being ridden along with the whip in the right hand, forcing HAYIL MATADOR outwards, which had to be restrained to avoid the heels of SPUR FORTUNE. L. Rolls was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 7 meetings, to commence at midnight, 13 June and to expire at midnight, 25 June 2015.

GHOST MOUNTAIN – Steadied off heels at the 1100m.

HAYIL MATADOR – Bumped heavily on 2 occasions and became unbalanced near the 400m when SPUR FORTUNE shifted out. L. Rolls, rider of SPUR SOUND, rider of was reprimanded. Restrained to avoid heels inside the 200m.


Race 4: Sirromet 5 Winery 3yo BM70 H'cap – 1350m

DETACHMENT – Change of tactics. Connections advised that the horse would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse missed the start and raced rearward.

OMEGA – Rider T. Bell reported that his mount slipped behind on jumping away.

VULCANIC DRAGON – Bumped near the 400m.

OLD SMOKEY – Began awkwardly. Laid out throughout.

DETACHMENT – Held up for a short distance at the top of the straight.

MADGE – Bumped just prior to the winning post by FIRE WITHIN.


Race 5: Ipswich Cup June Class 1 H'cap – 1200m

SHUKRIYA – Steadied when crowded for room at the start.

POMPEII FLYER – Checked to avoid the heels of RUFFO, which was hanging out badly near the 900m.

CASINOMAC – Hung out badly in the home straight and shifted ground.

RUFFO – Hung out badly throughout. A warning was placed on the horse regarding its racing manners.

WORLD SERIES – Rounding the turn and in the early part of the home straight was awkwardly placed at the heels of MURTA CAPE.

MAXIRODS – Lost off hind plate in running.


Race 6: XXXX Summer Tix Still Available Class 2 H'cap – 1350m

EARHART – Steadied shortly after the start when crowded for room. Steadied just prior to straightening and then again was unable to secure clear running until after the 200m.

AUBREY'S ACE – Commenced to overrace badly approaching the first turn and hung out, and then raced 3 wide thereafter.

OUTSTRIP – Held up rounding the home turn and then unable to secure clear running until after the 200m.



Race 7: Prepurchase $10 GA TIX Class 1 H'cap – 1710m

BLACKJACK PRINCESS – Checked at the start when crowded for room.

CHILLY PREDICTION – Checked at the start when crowded for room. Overraced in the early stages. Held up rounding the home turn.

CRUSADER RABBIT – Slow into stride.

HARNILIAM – Got its head up near the 1300m when being restrained from the heels of the leader, which was steadying in front.

LIDO – Checked off the heels of HARNILIAM at the 1300m.

COURT'S STAR – Awkwardly placed at heels from the 400m until straightening.

EUGENIE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
