Race 1: Channel 7 CG&E Maiden Plate – 1350m

UNDER THE WEATHER – Reared after being boxed and got both front legs over the partition. The gelding was removed from its stall, examined by the veterinary surgeon and found to be lame in off fore leg and subsequently declared a late scratching at 12.48 pm with the following deductions applicable.

2 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #9
3 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #4

SP bets are subject to deductions

Trainer Mr K. Waller was advised that the horse must perform satisfactorily in a jump out before it would be permitted to race again.

SOLDIER OF WAR – Slow to begin.

ARTANIS – Slow to begin. Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.

MOTION GRANTED - Bumped heavily at the start. Held up rounding the home turn and again in the early part of the straight. Jockey J. Byrne lost his whip near the 350m. Bumped on a couple of occasions over the final 200m.

YABA DABL DOYA – Overraced in the early stages and consequently raced 3 wide without cover.

MIRRIMA – The saddle on the gelding shifted back in the home straight, placing apprentice L. Tarrant at some disadvantage.

BAY DREAMER – Raced untractably and tailed off throughout the race. Trainer was advised that the gelding would be barred from racing at metropolitan meetings.


Race 2: Ray White F&M Maiden Plate - 1350m

QUEEN GEE – Slow into stride. Steadied from heels near the 600m.

ULTIMO – Crowded on jumping away.

FANTASY DREAM – Checked near the 800m. B. Stewart, rider ANGEL MIO, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that near the 800m he permitted his mount to shift in when not properly clear of FANTASY DREAM, resulting in that horse having to be checked. POP A BOTTLE, which was following was also checked. B. Stewart was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 10 race meetings, to commence at midnight, Saturday, 29 August and to expire at midnight, 13 September 2015.

POP A BOTTLE – Checked near the 800m.

Race 3: Sky Racing Class 3 H'cap – 1710m

ANGEL'S DESTINY- As G. Goold was to be overweight, M. Hellyer was substituted as the rider of the horse. Due to a his good record G. Goold was reprimanded.

WHITE TURF – Change of tactics. Connections advised it would be ridden with cover if circumstances permit. Raced handy with cover

SHADOW DOLL – Had to be steadied from heels making the crossing near the 1600m.

CHATEAUROUX – Apprentice L. Tarrant dropped his right rein near the 700m and shifted out, resulting in HYPERACTIVE improving to its inside. Then bumped on a number of occasions for some distance afterwards.


Race 4: Schweppes QTIS Maiden Plate – 2190m

LUSHY – Slow to begin.

TWINCITI DANCER – Slow to begin.

USSANDU – Slow to begin. Jockey T. Bell was reprimanded for using his whip 6 times prior to the 200m.

LADY HARRIET – Crowded on jumping away.

THE FRANKSTAR – Overraced in the early and middle stages and had to be steadied to avoid heels near the 1400m and then shifted out and allowed to stride forward. Hampered on straightening when PRETTY LUCKY shifted out. J Lloyd, rider of PRETTY LUCKY, was advised to exercise more care.

GALIANO – Obliged to shift wider from the 800m to improve.

PRETTY LUCKY – Hampered slightly near the 700m.



Race 5: Sirromet QTIS 3yo G&G Maiden H'cap – 1025m

AMBER LIGHTS – Slow to begin. Steadied near the 800m when crowded for room by PONTY, which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice S. Payne, rider of PONTY, was reprimanded.

RAUCOUS – Overraced in the early stages.

AFTON PRINCE – Jockey M. Cahill reported that his mount raced very greenly in the early stages and was reluctant to stretch out and from the 600m hung out badly across the heels of other runners and shifted towards the middle of the track. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. A warning was placed on the horse regarding its racing manners.

PONTY – Steadied near the 200m and shifted out when disappointed for a run to the inside of ROWDY, which shifted in marginally.

ROWDY ONE – Whilst the stewards were satisfied that J. Lloyd's riding over the concluding stages did not affect his third placing, he was nevertheless charged and pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to ride his mount right out to the end of the race where in the opinion of the stewards it was reasonable for him to do so. J. Lloyd was fined $500.

STELLA OMBRA – Jockey T. Harrison reported the horse hung out badly throughout the race, made the home turn awkwardly and proved difficult to ride out in the straight because of the way it was racing. She recommended the horse would be better suited on bigger track. Trainer K. Schweida will be advised that a warning would be placed on the horse's racing manners.


Race 6: City Of Ipswich Class 3 H'cap – 1200m

ASSERTORY – Momentarily steadied when crowded for room near the 900m.

HIT THE ROAD JACK – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Crowded slightly when hanging in near the 400m.

LONYX – Bumped heavily making the home turn. Raced 3 wide without cover.

EVERYBODY HAPPY – Checked severely approaching the winning post when crowded for room inside HIT THE ROAD, which hung in and away from MENACING, which also shifted ground slightly. L. Tarrant, rider of MENACING, was reprimanded and advised to make a greater effort to keep his mounts on a straight course in future.


Race 7: Optus Business Centre Brisbane South CG&E Ratings Band 0-70 H'cap – 1350m

STONE IN HIS SHOE – Momentarily crowded for room near the 300m.


Race 8: The Queensland Times F&M Ratings Band 0-70 H'cap – 1350m

PUTAPAVONIT – Slow into stride.

QUEEN CAESAR – Was hampered by OCEANTES, which shifted in on 2 occasions in the straight.

FAICONI – Raced greenly and shifted ground in the straight.

ALPINTORO – Raced 3 wide without cover.
