FAIRYTALE BELLE – Slow to begin.

HONEY HOLT – Slow to begin.

LANIKAI MISS – Jumped away awkwardly and lost some ground. Had to be steadied away from the heels of MOCK ME NOT soon after straightening. Jockey J. Lloyd (MOCK ME NOT) was advised to show greater care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

MAX IT OUT – Stewards questioned Jockey T. Harrison regarding the disappointing performance of the mare. Jockey Harrison stated that she was forced to ride hard in the early stages to clear MOCK ME NOT and JE SUIS PREST to obtain the lead. Jockey Harrison added that she was able to steady the tempo in the middle stages however, once pressured by JE SUIS PREST approaching the 400m her mount failed to respond to her riding and in her view was disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a slower than normal recovery rate.

RACE 2: Last Man Stands T20 Cricket Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 3 H'Cap – 1350m

BEAUXBATON – Slow to begin. Near the 900m when overracing shifted out resulting in RISING LUCK being forced wider.

MIDNIGHT CURFEW – Overraced in the early stages.

MONSTER OF ENERGY - Overraced in the early stages. Inconvenienced near the 200m.

RISING LUCK – Forced wider leaving the 900m and raced 3 wide without cover from that point.

DIDDY WIN DIDDY – Hung out rounding the home turn.

ROUBAIX – When questioned regarding the reason for ROUBAIX shifting out rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight, which resulted in the eventual winner obtaining a run to the inside of ROUBAIX, App L. Dittman stated that when DIDDY WIN DIDDY was hanging out rounding the home turn and he was racing to the outside of that runner ROUBAIX also commenced to hang out and continued to do so soon after straightening, which necessitated him changing the whip to his left hand. Stewards accepted the explanation given by App Dittman.

RACE 3: BOQ Winston Glades C,G&E 0-70 H'Cap – 1100m

JACK BE QUICK – Raced 3 wide in the early and middle stages.

ROMAN SECRET – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight until passing the 100m.

SUNSET SHOWDOWN – Raced 3 wide throughout.

NEE DE PAPA – When provided the opportunity to comment on the performance of his mount jockey G. Colless explained that he settled outside of the leader FAR DOOLEY soon after the start and was then bumped on a few occasions when JACK BE QUICK improved to his outside, which he felt NEE DE PAPA resented. He added approaching the 500m he allowed JACK BE QUICK to cross his mount and he was immediately under pressure and the colt did not respond to his riding in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed the colt to be mildly lame in the near fore leg. Trainer reported the horse has been sent for a spell.

RACE 4: Blue Dog Sports Maiden SW Plate – 1100m

SUITE MOVER – Trainer T. Gollan was fined $100.00 for failing to present the document of description for the filly.

The start was delayed when SUITE MOVER was fractious in the barriers and became momentarily cast. SUITE MOVER was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.

STAR JUSTICE – Inconvenienced after travelling a short distance.
AFFRAY – Approaching and rounding the home turn had to be restrained from the heels of the tiring HAGIA SOPHIA.

WITCHES LUCK – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer H. Page was advised that a warning would be issued in relation to the mare's barrier manners.

AKACHETA LEE – Near the 1200m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of THESSALY, which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey R. Wiggins (THESSALY) was cautioned and advised to ensure he provides sufficient clearance to his fellow riders when shifting ground in future.

GIVEN WINGS – Near the 1100m shifted out and made heavy contact with WULFIES LADY.

WULFIES LADY – When bumped heavily near the 1100m shifted out and hampered DECIBEL DAN.

DECIBEL DAN – Bumped heavily and lost ground near the 1100m.

CUBAN PRINCESS – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

RACE 6: Vogel Bobcat Hire Fillies & Mares 0-70 H'Cap – 1100m

Stewards considered an objection lodged by App M. McGillivray the rider of TANGENT which finished 4th against ALL IN ALL (App B. Appo) being declared the 3rd placegetter on the grounds of alleged interference over the final 150m. On the evidence stewards were of the opinion that ALL IN ALL did shift out and hampered TANGENT approaching and passing the 100m. Stewards were of the opinion that the degree of interference suffered by TANGENT exceeded the margin between the two horses at the finish and therefore upheld the objection and amended the placings to read:-

1st Dame Destiny
2nd Righteous Miss
3rd Tangent
4th All In All

PARTY TILL DAWN – Reared at the start and lost ground.

CASTANITA – Slow to begin. Checked passing the 100m.

FLAMENCO – Bumped heavily near the 100m.

WAR BABY – Raced wide throughout.

App B. Appo the rider of ALL IN ALL was issued with a charge of careless riding in that he permitted his mount to shift out under riding approaching the 100m mark when not fully clear of TANGENT, resulting in TANGENT being taken out onto FLAMENCO, which was bumped heavily and taken out onto CASTANITA, which had to be checked. After hearing further submissions from App Appo and Apprentice Advocate S. Scriven stewards could not be comfortably satisfied the actions of App Appo were solely responsible for CASTANITA having to check and for this reason did not sustain the charge.

RACE 7: Bremer Ford Crease Monkeys QTIS 3YO Maiden SW Plate – 1690m

The start was delayed when LORD DARIUS became fractious in the barriers and reared dislodging its rider S. Galloway. LORD DARIUS was removed from the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to race. Trainer P. Duff was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding's barrier manners.

GAIN A LOT – Slow to begin.

CAPETOWN HUSSEY – Approaching the 400m had to be steadied from the heels of BENZOIN.

BENZOIN – Hung out approaching the home turn.
