As P. Hammersley and L. Dittman were indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From SCTC, 20.11.15 – Race 4

Trainer M. Leitch reported that Marshal had pulled up with stiffness in the neck and hind quarters following the race and has since responded well to chiropractic treatment. Miss Leitch was of the view that this may explain why the gelding failed to finish the race off as expected.

RACE 1: SIRROMET WINERY F&M MAIDEN H'CAP – 1350m

DIEHARD DIVA – Bumped by another runner in the early part of the home straight.

LADY MANHATTAN – It was noted that following the race the horse had shifted its near hind plate in running.


RACE 2: SCHWEPPERVESCENCE CG&E MAIDEN H’CAP – 1350M

DARCY'S REGRET – Slow to begin and the trailed the field throughout and took no competitive part in the race. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer T. Sears was advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to racing again.

RED SPOT – Slow to begin.

FUSI FOX – Shifted out and bumped STORM ANCHOR in the early part of the home straight. Disappointed for clear running in the home straight until passing the 200m.

STORM ANCHOR – Bumped in the early part of the home straight.

MOCCADILES – Raced 3 wide without cover.

STORMY LEO – Lost near hind plate in running.


RACE 3: PEPSI MAX MAXIMUM TASTE QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1010M

REMEMBERING FRANK – Severely hampered at the start when tightened for room.

IRONBORN – Severely hampered at the start when tightened for room. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages.


RACE 4: THIRST CRUSHER SOLO F&M MARES CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1350M

MAGAZINE MISS – Knuckled at the start.

KAITLIN COVE – Overraced in the early stages.

Following correct weight, stewards were made aware by the Judge that KAITLIN COVE (No.8) had actually run 5th rather than No. 7, CATENACCIO that was semaphored. Stewards viewed the photo-finish image and were satisfied that No.8 (KAITLIN COVE) had in fact ran 5th, and under the provisions of AR156(3) altered the results accordingly.



RACE 5: XXXX GOOD AS GOLD CG&E CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1350M

KINGTANTES – Hampered at the start.

PRINCE OF SOFIA – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages.

BOBBY BE GOOD – Raced 3 wide throughout.


RACE 6: XXXX GOLD PALE ALE CANNONBALL SERIES HEAT BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP – 800M

SASSY TYCOON – The start of the race was delayed when SASSY TYCOON broke through the barriers. After undergoing a veterinary examination SASSY TYCOON was declared a late scratching at 3.19 pm, with the following deductions applicable.

26 cents in the dollar for the Win #10
22 cents in the dollar for place of winner #10
16 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #7
22 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #11

RACE 7: XXXX SUMMER BRIGHT RQ SUMMER PROVINCIAL SERIES BENCHMARK 75 H’CAP – 1200M

ROYAL OCCASION – Slow to begin.

TELMEMORE – Slow to begin.

GREAT INAGUA – Tightened for room at the start.

RED CLAW – Began awkwardly.

CHAMPAGNE BLAZE – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight and went to the line without being fully tested by its rider.

FIERCELY DEFIANT – Shifted out slightly near the 800m and became awkward at the heels of DAME DESTINY, which shifted in when not quite clear. J. Byrne, rider of DAME DESTINY, was advised to afford his fellow riders greater clearance when shifting ground in future.
OUTRAGED – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

WILL'S CHOICE – Raced wide throughout.

ALL MY ANGELS – Raced 3 wide without cover.

RED CLAW – Raced 4 wide throughout.

GOLD HORIZON – Raced wide throughout.


RACE 8: HEINEKEN AT ITC RATINGS BAND 0-70 H’CAP – 1609M

FASTA THAN LIGHT – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out. Overraced in the early and middle stages.

UNIQUE MISTIQUE – Had to be checked soon after the start when tightened for room. Restrained from heels near the 800m and shifted out and raced 3 wide from that point.

WHATALOVELYDAY – Taken wider by another runner on the home turn. When questioned regarding the performance, jockey M. Cahill stated that the mare travelled well in the early and middle stages of the race however rounding the home turn was bumped by another runner, after which the mare was immediately under pressure and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

SILVERENE – Had difficulty securing clear running in the home straight until the concluding stages.

ELLA MAGIC – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have sustained a laceration to the off hind leg consistent with being galloped on and to have cast its off hind plate. .
