GENERAL

As A. Best was indisposed due to personal reasons, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.

RACE 1: MOTORCYCLING QUEENSLAND CLASS 4 H’CAP – 1350M

STING – Reared as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Apprentice C. Schmidt was reprimanded for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

JACK BE QUICK – Hung out for the majority of the event. T. Harrison was afforded the opportunity to comment on the horse's performance. She stated that in her opinion the gelding was not entirely comfortable in the prevailing track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. Trainer T. Gollan agreed that the gelding did not appreciate the prevailing track conditions and indicated to stewards that the horse would now be retired from his stable.

HERE COMES THE SUN – Had to be checked and lost its rightful running approaching the 400m. Apprentice M. McGillivray, the rider of NEUSCHWANSTEIN, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR. 137(a) in that approaching the 400m he made insufficient effort to prevent his mount shifting out and causing the interference. Apprentice McGillivray's licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 8 days, to commence at midnight on Wednesday 9 December and expire at midnight on Thursday 17 December 2015.

LANDALE – When questioned regarding the horse's seemingly improved performance, trainer K. Hickmott advised that the horse raced in its customary pattern of either leading or being near the lead, and as this was the horse's second win on a rain-affected track, he believed today's prevailing track conditions were an advantage to the horse. Stewards noted his explanation.

RACE 2: RIDE AT QUEENSLAND MOTO PARK F&M MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M

Correct weight was delayed to enable S. Galloway, the rider of 4th placegetter GIRLS SAY, to view the stewards' patrol footage to determine whether he had grounds to lodge an objection against 3rd placegetter SCARLET BEGONIAS. After viewing the videos, S. Galloway indicated that he did not wish to proceed with an objection.

SCARLET BEGONIAS – Began awkwardly. Caught wide in the early stages. Shifted out and brushed another runner approaching the 100m.

MARLENE ADELE – Laid out shortly after the start, making contact with another runner. Held up approaching the home turn.

GIRLS SAY – Brushed by another runner approaching the 100m.

LINGERING LOVE – Bumped by another runner shortly after the start. Disappointed for a run at the 300m and was then held up for clear running until after passing the 150m.

RACE 3: JEMMA WILSON RACING C,G&E MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M

WORK OF WORDS – Had to be steadied off heels when overracing approaching the 900m.

ADERITO – Overraced in the early stages. Lost the near hind plate in running.

REAL HEART – T. Harrison was reprimanded for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

PUDMARDELS – Lost the off fore plate in running.

MAGHAANEM – Knuckled on jumping and shifted out abruptly, making contact with another runner and losing considerable ground, and then raced uncompetitively for the remainder of the event. When questioned, rider J. Lloyd stated after his mount made contact with another runner at the start, he was concerned that the horse may have injured itself and therefore did not pressure his mount for the remainder of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

KING OF THE CASTLE – Stepped in and became unbalanced when racing in restricted room after leaving the 1000m.

STORM ANCHOR – Apprentice S. Payne reported that his mount was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.

RACE 4: NICK MORRIS RACING QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

THE TROUBLE MAKER – When questioned as to his tactics and the horse's overall performance, R. Wiggins stated that after his mount began well from the wide barrier he attempted to go forward and it was his intention to gain a position outside STRATUZY, however when he obtained that position and he saw that T. Harrison, the rider of STRATUZY, was not endeavouring to hold the lead, he allowed his mount to stride forward to obtain the lead, and after leading, the horse was disappointing when pressured over the concluding stages and in his opinion it failed to handle the prevailing track conditions.

MORNING FOG – Slow to begin. Brushed the inside running rail on several occasions approaching the 900m and became unbalanced.

STRATUZY – Had to be steadied off the heels of THE TROUBLE MAKER approaching the 900m. R. Wiggins, the rider of THE TROUBLE MAKER, was advised to exercise more care when allowing his mounts to shift ground.

The track was downgraded to HEAVY 9 after this event.

RACE 5: SIRROMET FIVE STAR WINERY C,G&E CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1200M

TORQUEFLITE – Raced wide after passing the 800m.

RACE 6: ENJOY SIRROMET WINES F&M CLASS 3 H’CAP – 1200M

FLIGHT ACADEMY – Late scratching at 12.45 pm on veterinary advice.

VENECIA – R. Fradd was reprimanded for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

ITALIAN QUEEN – Shifted out under pressure after passing the 200, resulting in PAY ZONE PRINCESS having to be steadied. Rider T. Harrison was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.

DREAM SPEED – Wanted to lay in under pressure over the final 80m.

RACE 7: SIRROMET SIGNATURE COLLECTION RATINGS BAND 0-62 H’CAP – 1020M

STAGE EXIT – Restrained from a wide barrier at the start to obtain a position closer to the rail.

HI I'M BACK – Late scratching at 3.30 pm on veterinary advice.

AQUATOR – Raced wide throughout.

KATZENPFOETCHEN – After being keen in its preliminary whilst proceeding to the barriers, the horse underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to take its place in the field. Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the horse's performance, L. Tarrant stated that in his opinion the combination of the horse being a little fresh, having last raced on 20 September, and the prevailing track conditions may have contributed to the horse's disappointing performance today.

RACE 8: GOOD TIMES PUB GROUP QTIS BM75 H’CAP – 1700M

TIGERISH – Commenced a run three wide without cover after passing the 1000m.

NELAMOS – Overraced in the early stages.

WIMPOLE STREET – Wanted to hang in over the concluding stages of the event.

EXCITING DOLL – Wanted to lay out rounding the home turn.

WAR BABY – Overraced in the lead in the early and middle stages.

ATTITUDINAL MISS – Apprentice B. Appo was reprimanded for using the whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

GUNSMOKE – Weakened badly in the run to the line. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had bled from both nostrils during the event. As this was the first occasion on which the horse had bled, it will now be ineligible to start for 3 months and prior to resuming racing again must perform satisfactorily in a 1000m gallop in the presence of a steward.
