GENERAL
As L. Tarrant was not riding at the meeting, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
RACE 1: SCHWEPPES MAIDEN H’CAP – 800M
MAGIC STREET – Lost its near fore plate in running.
RUBY'S POCKET – Inclined to lay in for the majority of the straight.
CHAT TIME – Began awkwardly.
HOT LITTLE VIXEN – Slow to begin.
PIRELLI PRINCESS – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
RACE 2: RAY WHITE IPSWICH QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 800M
HIDDEN LIGHT – Began very awkwardly, causing S. Galloway to become unbalanced. As a result, his saddle shifted forward, placing him at a disadvantage.
BOILING – Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer D. Murray for the late declaration of A. Allen as the rider of this runner. Attempted to buck for some distance after the start. Trainer D. Murray was advised that the horse must trial to the satisfaction of the stewards before being permitted to race again.
ULTRONEOUS – Raced three wide without cover. Apprentice T. Brooker was fined $200 for using the whip 6 times prior to the 100m.
RACE 3: SKY RACING C,G&E CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M
THE MONK – Had some difficulty obtaining clear running approaching the 100m.
SIR ALBERT – Raced wide from the 700m.
OMEGA – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
MR SEDUCTION – Had to be steadied from heels for some distance leaving the 800m.
GREY DERBY – Began very awkwardly and lost considerable ground.
The track was downgraded to SOFT 6 after the running of this event.
RACE 4: CITY OF IPSWICH F&M CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1350M
LITTLE MISS ROCKER – Held up momentarily rounding the home turn.
PRINCESS CHARM – Late scratching at 2.30 pm due to the track downgrade to SOFT 6.
SORORITY SISTER – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
MORINGA'S TOOTSIE – G. Goold reported at scale that it was not his intention to race as far forward, however after being caught wide in the early stages, and with the lack of speed, raced outside the leader.
SPINIFEX FIRE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
RACE 5: CHANNEL 7 MAIDEN PLATE – 1700M
As S. Drake was unable to fulfil her engagement due to personal circumstances, S. Galloway was substituted as the rider of DECIBEL DAN.
BIGMORDRIVE – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped A NEW SOUND. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.
BROCSON – B. Stewart dropped his whip near the 50m.
DUBLEO'S LAD – S. Apthorpe reported to stewards that his saddle shifted forward shortly after the start, placing him at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.
FALLADA – Stewards afforded T. Harrison the opportunity to comment on the horse's performance. She stated that the gelding did not appreciate the soft track conditions and also the step up in distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
MOOLAMOON – Shifted out abruptly when overracing near the 1500m, forcing LIGHTNING ROCK wider. BENZOIN, which was following, was obliged to shift wider on the track and a short distance later commenced to overrace. A. Allen dropped his whip near the 150m.
HAGIA SOPHIA – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden off the pace today. After beginning awkwardly the horse was ridden accordingly.
DECIBEL DAN – Had to be steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of the weakening FALLADA rounding the home turn.
RACE 6: MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ITC RATINGS BAND 0-62 H’CAP – 1200M
HARVARD GRADUATE – Began awkwardly.
RACE 7: SANTA CLAUS CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1020M
ALL THE CREDIT – Raced four wide for the majority of the event.
CRACK A COLDIE – Shifted out and away from TRESSLES leaving the 600m and made contact with DRINKING COCKTAILS.
DRINKING COCKTAILS – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
ZEFFIRETTA – Began awkwardly and lost considerable ground.
RUNWAY ANGEL – Hampered rounding the home turn when CRACK A COLDIE shifted in. Apprentice E. Ljung, the rider of CRACK A COLDIE, was advised to exercise more care when her mounts shift ground.
JERROCITY – B. Powell was reprimanded for using the whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
