Race 1: SAMMUT BULOW RATINGS BAND 0 – 60 H'CAP – 800M
 
The start of this race was delayed to allow horses and riders travelling from Toowoomba time to arrive on course after being delayed due to a traffic accident en route. MAYEZ, WHATEVER MISS and JEPTOO underwent veterinary examinations and were cleared to take their places in the field.
 
MAGIC STREET – Had a tendency to lay in passing the 50m and made contact with JEPTOO.
 
MAYEZ – Inclined to lay out in the early stages and rounding the home turn.
 
WHATEVER MISS – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped I AM MCLOVIN.
 
DELERIUM – Had a tendency to lay in after passing the 200m.
 
POSITIVE QUEST – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
I AM MCLOVIN – Bumped on jumping.
 
I GOT A TURBO – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
JEPTOO – Had to be steadied at the 50m when tightened for room between MAGIC STREET and DELERIUM, both of which shifted ground. A post-race veterinary examination  revealed no significant findings.
 
Race 2: JON KENT LAWYERS MAIDEN PLATE – 1690M
 
DANCING VAGABOND – Fractious in the barriers and began awkwardly. Commenced to tire approaching the 400m and tailed off over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a breathing abnormality. Trainer G. Cornish was advised that he will be required to produce the results of an endoscopic examination and a veterinary clearance prior to the horse racing again. Lost the near fore plate in running. Connections advised that it would be recommended that the horse be retired.
 
MOUNTAIN OF GRACE – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3: IPSWICH JETS CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1690M
 
AIRLIE REWARD – Pulled up quickly after passing the winning post. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a soft tissue injury to the off fore pastern. Trainer T. Hall was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
RED WAYNE – Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of apprentice T. Brooker as rider. Slow to begin and as a result settled further back in the field than anticipated.
 
FASSLER – Began awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
HAY LIFE – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Lost the off hind plate in running.
 
Race 4: MCNAMARA & ASSOCIATES CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1350M
 
GREAT GAME – Bumped at the start.
 
CHEVAL LE VENT – Began awkwardly, bumped GREAT GAME and lost some ground.
 
PLANET AMERICA – Due to transport difficulties J. Oliver was unable to fulfil his engagement and was replaced by M. Hellyer. Passing the 400m was shifted out by CHEVAL LE VENT, which shifted out to improve.
 
BERNITCHY – Forced wider on the track when runners on the inside shifted out to obtain clear running. Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
Race 5: REALWAY PROPERTY CONSULTANTS IPSWICH MAIDEN PLATE – 1350M
 
LITTLE ALBERT – Overraced and got its head up rounding the 800m turn. Inclined to lay in rounding the home turn. After passing the 100m had to be steadied from heels when racing in restricted room.
 
GAMEHEART – Bumped at the start. After passing the 100m had to shift wider on the track to obtain clear running.
 
IRISH HEART – Bumped at the start. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
KING OF MONACO – After jumping was tightened for room between runners, both of which shifted ground. Had to be steadied to avoid heels approaching the 100m and shifted out making heavy contact with MEAL TICKET.
 
MEAL TICKET – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn. Bumped heavily by KING OF MONACO passing the 100m.
 
YOU'RE SO VAIN – Late scratching at 2:58 pm when the horse was unable to arrive on course due to a traffic accident en route. As betting had not commenced, no deductions were applicable.
 
EFFECTIVE ASSASSIN – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped GAMEHEART.
 
RED ZABELLA – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn.
 
STRAYING – Began awkwardly and shifted out, making contact with IRISH HEART.
 
 
Race 6: CHRIS & KATRINA HALL C,G&E CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M
 
The start of this race was delayed until JESTER DANE had been recaptured.
 
REAL EGO – Shifted out at the start and bumped another runner.
 
FIVE SPICES – Slow into stride and as a consequence settled further back in the field than anticipated.
 
APPLE JACK – As M. Schrapel was unable to arrive on course due to a traffic accident en route, M. Shimodaira was substituted as rider. Bumped on jumping. Raced three wide without cover throughout. Had a tendency to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
JESTER DANE – Dislodged rider after leaving the enclosure and galloped for some distance before being recaptured. Rider P. Romeo was uninjured in the incident. Declared a late scratching at 4:11 pm by order of stewards. Following the event, stewards ordered that all monies invested on JESTER DANE be refunded with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:
 
            0 cents in the dollar for the win #1
            1 cents in the dollar for place of winner #1
            3 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #12
            2 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #3
 
Starting price bets are not subject to deductions.
 
DR QUINCY – J. Lloyd reported at scale that his mount hung out throughout the event.
 
HE'S ALL HEART – Fractious in the barriers and reared on a number of occasions prior to the start being effected. Held up rounding the home turn and on straightening was disappointed for a run to the inside of DR QUINCY and was momentarily held up and had to be steadied from the heels of that runner before securing clear running leaving the 300m.
 
Race 7: TRU FLOW SERVICES F&M CLASS 1 H'CAP
 
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to view the concluding stages to ascertain whether an incident passing the 100m had a material effect on the placings.
 
LIBELULA – Began awkwardly. After being caught wide in the early stages was allowed to stride forward to obtain the leading position near the 900m.
 
FINE EYES – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Forced wider rounding the home turn when POETIC SHOW shifted out to obtain clear running. Shifted in under riding after passing the 100m and made contact with POETIC SHOW.
 
POETIC SHOW – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Passing the 100m was bumped by FINE EYES, which shifted in.
 
SUPERSAY – Forced to race wide rounding the home turn.
 
CAPITAL CITY – Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
GOTTA CHANCE – Slow to begin.
