Race 1: Western Rag & Safety Ratings Band 0-70 H’cap – 800m
DREAM OF ASCOT – Bumped on 2 occasions near the 400m. Raced 5 wide and was carried wider rounding the home turn by TYCOON ZIP, which hung out.
TYCOON ZIP – Raced 4 wide and hung out rounding the home turn. Upon straightening became awkwardly placed when racing in restricted room to the inside of DREAM OF ASCOT.
DON’T PLAY AROUND – Laid out rounding the home turn. Raced 3 wide without cover.
CLINT – Held up rounding the home.
STELLARCRAFT – Held up rounding the home turn.
DEEPEST – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled during the event. As this was the second occasion on which DEEPEST has bled, it would now incur a lifetime bar from racing.
Race 2: K&R Training CG&E Maiden Plate – 1200m
TATOI – The start was slightly delayed when the gelding proved reluctant to be loaded into the barriers. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
SPEECHMAKER - Began awkwardly.
MEANER – Began awkwardly.
ANIMAL INSTINCT – Bumped on the hind quarters on jumping and became unbalanced.
HOUSE ARREST – Overraced in the early and middle stages of the race.
Race 3: Swifts Sports Club Class 5 H‘cap – 1350m
SI SI SEQUALO – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
CAPPELLA MAGNA – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
CHARLIE CAT – Began awkwardly.
MACHU PICCHU – Slightly hampered when tightened for room on jumping away. Held up from the 400m to the home straight. Held up for clear running from the 400m to the 250m.
DANSEZ – Slightly hampered when tightened for room on jumping away.
LORD MARMADUKE – After being caught 3 wide without cover in the early stages, then pressed forward to obtain a position outside the leader at the 700m. After passing the 400m had an inclination to hang in when beginning to weaken, and in the home straight proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer D. Vandyke advised that in light of today’s performance he would recommend to connections that the gelding now leave his stable.
LADY MICAELA – Laid in in the early stages of the home straight and passing the 200m had to be checked when awkwardly placed at the heels of MACHU PICCHU, which shifted out when not fully clear. Apprentice H. English, rider of MACHU PICCHU, was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Race 4: Global Food Equipment QTIS 3yo H‘cap - 1000m
I AM VENUS – Raced greenly in the home straight.
SOLO MELODY – Brushed approaching the 200m. Over the final 100m had a tendency to lay in under pressure.
DAZZLING RED – Brushed approaching the 200m.
LOVESON – Had to be steadied over the final 200m and was unable to fully test her mount when it improved on to the heels of I AM VENUS.
Race 5: Krazy Kebabs QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – (2) – 1100m
WILLIWIN SOME – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Commenced to hang out after passing the 700m and raced extremely wide rounding the home turn. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding regarding its racing manners.
EXACTAMENTE – Bumped on jumping away and laid out away from WILLOIWIN SOME
READY SET BOOM – Had to be checked shortly after the start when tightened for room.
EULEILAH – Bumped initially shortly after the start and then had to be checked away from the heels of EXACTAMENTE. Became slightly unbalanced when crowded for room inside ZEPHETTO.
SECLUDE – Buffeted between runners on jumping away. Had to be checked passing the 800m when tightened for room by GLOBAL CHOICE, which shifted in.
GLOBAL CHOICE – Jockey R. Stewart was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that passing the 800m he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SECLUDE, which had to be checked and lose its rightful position. Jockey Stewart was suspended from riding in races for a period of 9 days, to commence at midnight, 29 July and to expire at midnight, 7 August.
ZEPHETTO – Passing the 700m laid in for a shot distance.
Race 6: Swifties Cup QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate (1) – 1100m
STARBUSTER – Change of tactics. To be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Raced 4 wide in the early stages before obtaining a position 3 wide with cover passing the 700m. Jockey D. Smith was obliged to stop riding approaching the winning post when laying in under pressure and in close proximity to the heels of CAILINI.
WHYMELO – The start was significantly delayed when it refused to load into the barriers, and was subsequently declared a late at 3.24 pm. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

Trainer T. Edmonds was advised that a further barrier certificate will be required for the horse prior to its next race start.
SYLVESTER – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
CAILINI – Bumped heavily at the start by SYLVESTER, which began awkwardly and shifted in.
MISHANI PHANTOM – Shifted in shortly after the start. Inconvenienced passing the 100m. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
SET BEAT – Tightened for room shortly after the start between runners.
DESERT KNIGHT – Hung out rounding the home turn and continued to hang out in the straight whilst weakening.
YARBOROUGH – Disappointed for a run and forced to check when improving onto the heels of DESERT KNIGHT near the 150m.
JUST GIVEME RUBIES - Tightened for room shortly after the start between runners.
Race 7: Carlton Mid Fillies & Mares Plate – 1200m
FIRST WITNESS – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn. Upon straightening had to alter course abruptly to the inside to avoids the heels of a tiring runner.
MANHATTANITE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
SNAP AND GO – After passing the 1100m when leaving the false running rail, shied out and away of its own accord.
ANGEL OF LEON – After passing the 1100m hampered and shifted wider on the track by SNAP AND GO.
AMERICAN LOVE – Passing the 1000m had to be steadied slightly after improving on to the heels of ANGEL OF LEON. Approaching the 600m had to be checked away from heels when awkwardly placed to the inside of ANGEL OF LEON. Passing the 400m was held up and had to be restrained from heels and in doing so had a tendency to lay out.
Race 8: Follow Us @ipswichturfclub Class 21 Plate – 1200m
REAL KAOS – Began awkwardly.
FUSI FOX – Blundered on jumping away.
CAPO DI TUTTI – Began awkwardly.
HEARTS HONOUR – Held up slightly rounding the home turn.
I REMEMBER YOU – Upon straightening was held up for clear running. When asked to explain the tactics adopted, jockey J. Byrne explained that his instructions were to race just behind the speed, however after being crossed early he was unable to hold a more forward position, and never travelled for the majority of the event. Upon straightening the mare was momentarily held up after which he was able to improve to the outside of REAL KAOS. Jockey Byrne noted that I REMEMBER YOU was accidentally struck over the nose on 2 occasions by J. Orman’s (Real Kaos) whip over the concluding stages but nonetheless the mare finished the race off well.
ESCADAY – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
