On return to scale a protest was lodged by jockey B. Stewart, rider of the 2nd placegetter, RED COLOUR, against MONACO PLAYBOY being declared the winner alleging interference rounding the home turn. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the stewards patrol film, whilst noting that MONACO PLAYBOY shifted in slightly, any interference sustained by jockey Stewart was inconsequential to the result of the race and therefore dismissed the objection and gave correct weight on the Judge’s placings. Subsequently, jockey B. Stewart was fined the sum of $200 for lodging what the stewards deemed a frivolous protest.
