Race 1: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden
Handicap 800 metres
 
PROJECT PAPERCLIP – After being bumped near the 450m the gelding then commenced to hang out and proved difficult to ride rounding the home turn. Inclined to lay out in the home straight.
 
MOST DAZZLING – Inconvenienced when bumped near the 450m.
 
BOLD RANSOM – Improved onto the heels of GRACIEDE when racing greenly and shifted out and made heavy contact with MOST DAZZLING. Apprentice J Cornish was advised to attempt to restrain her horse rather than shifting out hampering other runners.
 
CONTESSA NILE – Slow to begin. Raced greenly and shifted out approaching the home turn. A post-race veterinary inspection of the filly which performed below market expectations revealed no significant findings.
 
LIGHT UP THE DAWN – Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout.
 
GRANDEUR ROSE – Was carried wider rounding the home turn by PROJECT PAPERCLIP. A post-race veterinary examination was carried out at the request of the trainer and the filly was found to have a poor post-race recovery. Trainer G Hay indicated the filly would now be spelled and Stewards advised  him to provide a veterinary certificate of fitness before racing or trialling again.
 
 
Race 2: THE PRINCE'S FAREWELL GALLOP QTIS Three-Year-Old
BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1690 metres
 
KISS MY MILLO – Over-raced in the middle stages. Was held up for clear running rounding the home turn and had to be eased off heels.
 
CRYMENOTEARS – Over-raced approaching the 1200m and as a result shifted out and raced three wide from that point.
 
SANZERA – When asked to explain the performance today, rider R Maloney stated the filly over-raced in the early stages, adding that when pressured from the 500m it failed to respond and was disappointing in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. A routine swab sample was taken.
 
KALPANA – Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.
 
TEE AMICI – Hampered at the start.
 
CLAUDIUS – Over-raced badly in the early stages. Raced three wide throughout.
 
CAPITAL GIRL – Jumped awkwardly.
 
Race 3: SCHWEPPES Class 4 Handicap 1100 metres
 
SPINNING SPIRIT – Was held up rounding the home turn when awkwardly placed at the heels of BADGE OF GAMENESS. Unable to secure running in the home straight and went to the line not fully tested by it’s rider.
 
SHADOW OF TIME – Over-raced in the middle stages. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
CHEVY NOVA – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
BADGE OF GAMENESS – The gelding underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently passed fit to start.
 
Race 4: GREAT NORTHERN BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1350 metres
 
I'M HITCHIN' BRO – Slow to begin.
 
HE IS – Was inclined to shift in over the final stages.
 
EXPENSIVE TO KEEP – Over-raced in the early stages. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn. Trainer Damian Batters was issued a reprimand under the provisions of AR106(2) for negligence in saddling the mare in that he failed to affix the surcingle.
 
SPIRIT'S CHARM – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
PENNYWORTH – Inclined to lay in over the final 250m.
 
Race 5: THE BARN FAMILY RESTAURANT Maiden Handicap 1690 metres
 
ANGEL GRACE – Slow to begin.
 
ZOU ZOU MALAGUZIA – When racing keenly near the 1100m had to be steadied off heels. Steadied off the heels of the tiring MA DUSHKA on the home turn.
 
RIVERINA RIDGE – Over-raced badly in the early and middle stages.
 
A DEVIL'S CHANCE – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
HYPERION ANGEL – Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
MA DUSHKA – Over-raced when leading in the early stages.
 
MAGIC BOOM – Upon arrival at the barriers subsequently cleared the horse to start.
 
MOMEMORY – Over-raced in the early and middle stages when racing three wide.
 
Race 6: SIRROMET Class 1 Handicap 800 metres
 
The start of this race delayed when WORLD CHARMER when entering the track failed to proceed to the barriers. The mare was subsequently declared a late scratching at 4.34pm by order of the Stewards.
 
The race was further delayed when TIMELY REWARD was unable to be loaded in the barriers and was subsequently ordered a late scratching at 4.39pm.
 
All wagers on these runners were to be refunded in full and all successful wagers were subject to the following deductions:

Trainer G Cornish was advised that WORLD CHARMER must compete satisfactorily in an official trial prior to being permitted to race again. Trainer N Vuille was also advised that TIMELY REWARD must obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again
 
GREEN KUDOS – Slow to begin.
 
THE WAITING MAN – Shifted out near the 600m despite the efforts of its rider and bumped AUTUMN DAZE. Continued to hang out rounding the home turn and proved difficult to ride. Trainer P Sexton was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare.
 
AUTUMN DAZE – Steadied from heels near the 600m.
 
WHISTLE HOFF – Slow to begin.
 
DREAM WEAVING – Bumped on the hindquarters near the 600m.
 
GEOTIME – Hung out rounding the home turn and proved difficult and continued to hang out in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant findings. Trainer R Bowen was advised that a warning was placed on the gelding for hanging out.
 
 
Race 7: EVENTS @ IEEC.COM.AU Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
WRITTLE – Tightened for room near the 800m. Bumped in the early part of the home straight by BY BY MUSIC.

TORUN - When over-racing near the 900m had to be steadied from the heels of ROCKSTAR DREAMS and shifted in despite the effort of its rider, resulting in BETTER GET READY being severely checked.
 
BELLS APPROACHING – Slow to begin.
 
BI TURBO -Raced three wide in the early stages.
 
HI HI HI  - Checked from the heels of BY BY MUSIC approaching the 800m which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice J Cornish (BY BY MUSIC) pleaded guilty to careless riding under the provisions of AR 131(a) for permitting her mount to shift in at the 800m when insufficiently clear of HI HI HI which had to be checked and was taken in onto WRITTLE which was tightened.
 
BETTER GET READY – Severely checked when tightened for room near the 900m losing significant ground. A post -race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from muscle soreness. Trainer R Heathcote will be advised that he must provide a veterinary certificate prior to racing or trialling again.
 
 
LOVE MY SUPER – A post-race veterinary examination of the mare which performed disappointingly failed to reveal any significant findings.
 
ROCKSTAR DREAMS – Steadied near the 900m from the heels of HI HI HI.
