GENERAL

Stewards approved the following overweight allowance at today’s meetings-
 
Race 9.         DOOR INTO SUMMER – J. Guthmann-Chester - +0.5kg

 
Race 4.         Jockey J. Guthmann-Chester was fined $200 under the provisions of AR127(1) for failing to fulfil his engagement on DRAGON SONG.
 
Race 5.         As Apprentice S. Tomlinson was delayed arriving on course due to transport difficulties, stewards permitted Jockey A Fancourt to ride BEAUTIFUL VISION due to no available apprentices.
 
 
Race 1: WWW.IEEC.COM.AU QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 800 metres
 
Bean A Bad Girl – Hampered on jumping away.
 
Super Dazzler – Hampered on jumping away. Rider reported that in her opinion the Filly failed to handle the shifting track surface.
 
Race 2: FOLLOW @IPSWICHTURFCLUB QTIS Two-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Pl 1100 metres
 
 
Another Dazzler – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Brookhaven – Checked at the start when hampered between YELLOW BRICK and ANOTHER DAZZLER. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
Spooky Spirit – - Slow into stride.
 
Yellow Brick – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Race 3: KINGSLEY LAWSON LAWYERS QTIS Two-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Pl 1100 metres
 
Better Class – Carried wider on the track passing the 500m.
 
Dark Harmony – Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
Hoff His Face – Slow into stride. Rider reported her mount raced green throughout the event. Laid out rounding the turn passing the 500m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Mishani Rebound – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey A Mallyon stated that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the event. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Victory Moments – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Race 4: IPSWICH CUP TICKETS ON SALE QTIS Two-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1100 metres
 
Floral Oasis – Hampered on jumping away. Had difficulty obtaining clear running on entering the homes
 
Kournikova – Hampered on jumping away. Overraced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover. Passing the 200m had to shift wider on the track to avoid the heels of MISHANI SUPREME which shifted out to obtain clear running. Apprentice A Jones, rider of MISHANI SUPREME was advised to take greater care when allowing her mounts to shift ground in future.
 
Charose – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out abruptly contacting KOURNIKOVA.
 
Mishani Supreme – Passing the 200m was disappointed for a run between MISHANI JEWEL and CHAROSE, which laid in under pressure.
 
Race 5: TRIDAN ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS Maiden Handicap1680 metres
 
So You Knew – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Grinzinger Knight – Passing the 900m had to steady after improving onto the heels of BEAUTIFUL VISION.
 
 
Soften It Up – Raced wide in the early stages of the event. Lost its tongue tie during the event. Rider reported that his mount raced green throughout the event. Passing the 600m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of SO YOU KNEW after being carried out by SWEAR ON A PROMISE, which shifted out when insufficiently clear. Jockey T Brooker, rider of SWEAR ON A PROMISE, was found guilty of a charge under the provisions of AR131(a) and was suspended for a period of eight days to commence midnight 15 May 2022 to midnight 24 May 2022.
 
Swear On A Promise – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
Race 6: YOU'RE SECURE WINDOWS & BLINDS Class 2 Plate1680 metres
 
Glashabee – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Jabbar – Slow to begin and was hampered shortly after.
 
Beat It – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Kercharmer – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 7: EDDIES CUP Class 4 Handicap 1100 metres
 
 
Shadow Of Time – Slow into stride. Rider reported that in his opinion didn’t handle todays shifting surface. A post race veterinary examination revealed signs of mild heat stress.
 
Day Performer (NZ) – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Race 8: PROGRAMMED PROPERTY SERVICES Colts, Geldings and Entires BENCHMARK 62 1350 metres
 
The Minivan – Hampered on jumping away. Rider reported that in his opinion the gelding failed to handle the heavy going.
 
Tri Nations – Reared on jumping away.
 
Sacred Oath (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly and was hampered shortly after. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Lipeansass – Was declared a late scratching at 3.34pm on veterinary advice after being fractious during saddling. Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and the placegetters prior to 3.34pm as following:

Place Bets (For 2nd) SACRED OATH (NZ) - 0 cents

All monies bet after the Stewards' declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.
Trainer L Kelly was advised that the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to a future race start.

Zeeluck – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
