Trainer M Currie was advised the gelding would be required to obtain the results of a clear ECG before undergoing a barrier trial prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

Declaration of correct weight was delayed when Jockey W D’Avila, rider of 3rd placegetter EVERYNOW’N’THEN, lodged an objection against 2nd placegetter RONLEE GAL (T Marshall) for alleged interference in the home straight.  After taking evidence from the riders and connections involved and viewing the patrol footage it was determined that whilst RONLEE GAL had been inclined to lay in down the running this was the result of EVERYNOW’N’THEN attempting to shift out and improve consequently bumping the hindquarters of RONLEE GAL on several occasions causing that runner to become unbalanced and be turned in. As Stewards could not attribute the interference solely to RONLEE GAL or its rider the protest was dismissed, and correct weight declared on the Judges semaphored numbers.
