Race 1: O’DELL PLUMBING/CALTEX ENERGY QUEENSLAND CLASS 6 PLATE - 1000 metres


Jockey C. Dixon was the rider of FONDA DE LUCRE.

HIDDEN CHIEF was scratched due to no available jockeys.

FONDA DE LUCRE – Slow to begin.

DOMINANT PLAY – Travelled wide for the majority.

EMPEROR – Failed to handle the track conditions and resented the kickback.

Race 2: GP CATTLE COMPANY QTIS MAIDEN PLATE - 1000 metres


Jockey C. Dixon was the rider of DANCE TO INSPIRE and permitted to ride 2kg overweight as there was no other rider available.

BEL HAY dislodged jockey S. McCullum on the way to the barriers. Jockey McCullum was attended to by ambulance officers and transported to hospital for further examination and observation. A medical certificate of fitness will be required prior to his next riding engagements.

There was a lengthy delay to the start of race two, awaiting the return of the ambulance.

BEL HAY was scratched at 2:20pm and deductions were announced with correct weight after the running of race two. Deductions were 19 cents in the dollar of wins bets and 16 cents in the dollar of place bets.

SPITFIRE DRAGON – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

YULETIDE – Slow to begin and raced wide throughout.

ECHELON ANNIE – Jumped awkwardly and hung out rounding the home turn.

SEACITY – Raced greenly and resented the kickback.


Race 3: LONGREACH REGIONAL COUNCIL/CLANCY’S OVERFLOW HOTEL CLASS B HANDICAP - 1200 metres


CHEEKY EXPRESS was a late scratching at 2:37pm due to no other available rider to replace Jockey McCullum.

A short delay to correct weight as Apprentice Q. Krogh (RAHEEBS KINGDOM) viewed the patrol footage of the last 150m. After doing so, the rider was satisfied and correct weight was declared.

Jockey C. Dixon was the rider of MISS NOVELTY and permitted to ride 3kg overweight as there was no other rider available.

CURLEY GREY- Began awkwardly, lost ground and raced wide throughout.

PINTERRA – Shifted in down the straight.

Race 4: ISIS DOWNS BM 60 HANDICAP - 1400 metres

OUR MAGIC MADGE and ETERNO were scratched due no other available riders.

SPIRIT OF MANY was a late scratching at 2:37pm due to no other replacement rider for the indisposed Jockey McCullum.

Jockey C. Dixon was the rider of KEV’S DESTINY and permitted to ride 0.5kg overweight.

Stewards inquired into the performance of WILD GODSON. Jockey B. Richardson stated she rode to instructions, those being to position the horse back in the field and make use of horse’s usual sprint. Jockey Richardson further stated the pace of the race was quicker than expected and she was obliged to pressure the horse earlier than she would have liked.

KEV’S DESTINY- Raced wide throughout and Jockey C. Dixon was reprimanded for his use of the whip and reminded of the rule.




Race 5: SUFFREN & MOORE CIVIL/ROSS CUP OPEN HANDICAP - 1400 metres

BUTCHER BOY and ICE MELODY were late scratchings at 12pm due to no other available riders.

WIGPOOL was a late scratching at 2:37pm due to no other riders being available to replace jockey S. McCullum.

Stewards inquired into the dual jockey declaration of B. Richardson on A DEPENDANT and NEPTUNE EXPRESS after listening to the evidence stewards accepted the explanation.

C. Dixon was the rider of NEPTUNE EXPRESS and permitted to ride 3kg overweight as there was no other rider available.

LEO’S SPIRIT- Raced wide throughout.
