RACE 1: BILL SULLIVAN MAIDEN PLATE – 1000m
DESTINY’S MATE – Slow to begin. Hung out rounding the home turn.
BROWN LINES – Slow to begin. After the declaration of correct weight, Jockey J. Missen advised that in his opinion barrier three was slow to open. After reviewing, the film stewards deemed the gate slow and made further arrangements for the gate to be serviced.
RACE 2: DALBY BUSINESS HOUSES BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP – 1000m
NOURISHING – Reared prior to the start. Began awkwardly making heavy contact with runners to the inside.
EARLSTOUN RULER - Blundered at the start. Lost ground rounding the 900m when another runner to the inside shifted ground. Hung out rounding the home turn.
COVER UP – Lost ground at the start after another runner to the inside jumped in.
NAVILLUS REXTED – Lost ground at the start after another runner to the inside jumped in.
I AM MCLOVIN – Hung out rounding the 900m, taking out another runner. Raced wide throughout the middle stages
EXCEEDINGLY KOOL – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Apprentice M. Savva was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
RACE 3: JANDOWAE MEMORIAL QTIS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1200m
The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow the rider of LE MAX (Jockey S. Bayliss) to view the photo finish. After viewing, jockey Bayliss was satisfied with the placings and correct weight was declared.
HEZA CHUMLEY – Began awkwardly making contact with a runner to the inside.
FAIR RULER – Tightened for room at the start and subsequently lost ground. Raced in restricted room during the middle stages. Hung out rounding the home turn.
CAN HE RAP – Tightened for room shortly after start and lost ground.
RACE 4: JANDOWAE CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP – 1500m
FLYING CHARGER – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, Apprentice H. English advised that in her opinion the gelding struggled with its allocated weight of 65kg failing to settle throughout today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had a poor post-race recovery. Trainer G. Richardson was advised the gelding would require a further vet certificate prior to its next start.
RED BOHEMIA – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
RACE 5: JANDOWAE BUSINESS HOUSES & TRAINERS TROPHY CLASS B HANDICAP – 1500m
GOLD SEARCH – Jockey N. Evans was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip.
