Race 1: MAGIC MILLIONS GOLD COAST YEARLING SALE QTIS 3YO
MAIDEN PLATE – 1060M
UNI – Slow to begin.
JET OUT OF HERE – Slow to begin.
Race 2: TOLL GROUP BM58 H’CAP – 1500M
ARGIE’S HEART – Slow to begin. Blundered after passing the winning post on the first occasion.
SCRAPINDIPITY – Slow to begin.
Race 3: KPC KILCOY CHRISTMAS CUP BM58 H’CAP – 1900M
ROYAL EVENT – Apprentice A. Denby reported that her mount, which performed disappointingly, overraced badly with blinkers on first time and may not have been suited by the tight turning track.
CREDIT ONLY – Inconvenienced and carried wider for some distance after the 1000m and was eventually crowded for room near the 800m when taken out by ROYALTOWN ROAD, which when pulling shifted out when the pace steadied at that point. Whilst stewards were satisfied that apprentice H. English, the rider of ROYALTOWN ROAD, had difficulty restraining her mount at that stage, she was nonetheless advised to ensure that in future she has comfortable racing room when riding horses she knows are inclined to pull.
RED BERETTA – Crowded slightly near the 400m.
Race 4: CARLTON-MID CANNONBALL SERIES FINAL BM75 H’CAP – 800M
CELESTIAL DRAGON – Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $100 for failing to produce the horse’s Thoroughbred Identification Card. Slow to begin.
ALPINE DRAGON – Blundered after the 400m.
FREQUENDLY – Received a bump near the 400m, then appeared to lose its hind legs and slip behind. After viewing the film, B. Stewart concurred and said that after this incident he was concerned with the filly’s action and for this reason did not persist in riding the horse out. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial laceration behind the off fore knee.
Race 5: TRITON CONSTRUCTION MAIDEN PLATE – 800M
IT’S A STICK UP – Dipped near the 400m and hung out making the home turn.
MORINGA’S COQUETTE – Shortly after the start commenced to buck for a considerable distance and was restrained from the event. Trainer S. Jones was advised that the filly would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to racing again.
Race 6: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL/CARLTON-MID CLASS 1 H’CAP – 1200M
BOLD NAVIGATOR – Began awkwardly and lost considerable ground..
SNIPPET EXPRESS – Inconvenienced and carried wider near the 600m.
BEST OF MY LOVE – Slow to begin.
HE’S DIRT CHEAP – Inconvenienced and carried wider near the 600m.
