Race 1: KILCOY EXCHANGE QTIS CLASS 1 HCP 800m

CHILI DIPPER – Shifted in at the start and bumped DR QUINCY.

EARL OF FORDYCE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

RHODRY – Blundered on jumping. Momentarily held up approaching the 50m and was obliged to alter course to secure clear running.

ABITAZAR – Began very awkwardly and shifted in making heavy contact with DIAMONDINE resulting in App E. Ljung becoming unbalanced in the saddle. Raced wide throughout the event.

SHOUTS ALL ROUND – Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.




Race 2: CARLTON MID CLASS 2 HCP 1060m

SHANDIEN – Declared late scratching @ 12.50pm on veterinary advice after it was revealed the gelding had been kicked on the float.

BIG GREEN PONY – Slow into stride and then raced wide for the majority of the event. Lost Off fore plate in running.

HENNY’S HOPE – Began awkwardly and lost ground, then raced wide for the majority of the event.

JERROCITY – Slow to begin.

FAVORITE SHADOW – Attempted to buck shortly after the start and as a result took no competitive part in the race. Trainer S. Essery was advised that a further Barrier Certificate would be required before the gelding would be permitted to race again.

MONSCHAPELLE – When asked to explain the disappointing performance, jockey V. Venkaya stated that the mare was fractious in the barriers before travelling comfortably until asked for an effort near the 600m, where the mare commenced to hang out and proved disappointing. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be in a distressed state following the event. Trainer B. Smith will be advised that a veterinary certificate will be required prior to the mare’s next start.







Race 3: STOCKMANS SUPPLIES MAIDEN PLATE 1200m

STAR SPANGLE DREAM – Declared a late scratching @ 11.30am when the gelding was unable to be loaded onto the float.

BEER ‘N’ BARMAID – Began very awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Over-raced in the early and middle stages and near the 800m had to be restrained from heels.

SHE’S A UNIT – Hampered and lost ground at the start when tightened for room.

WEE DRAGON – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced wide in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward to obtain the lead near the 700m, then commenced to hang out badly for the remainder of the event. Trainer T. Gillespie was advised that the mare would have to perform satisfactorily in an Official trial before being permitted to race again.

FRISCOS SHADOW – Subject to any submissions, Trainer W. Bannerot will be fined $100 for the late declaration of App M. Savva. Buffeted at the start between runners and as a result rider became unbalanced in the saddle momentarily. Raced three wide without cover for the majority of the event.

WOOBINDA KEEPA – Made contact with the outside fence when entering the track and then was reluctant to proceed to the barriers. Underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers which cleared the mare suitable to race. Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s pre race manners. Lost ground shortly after the start when tightened for room.

MISS ALEXANDRA – Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn, proving difficult to ride.

MARMAJAH – Raced wide rounding the home turn.




Race 4: CASELLA WINES B’MARK 50 HCP 1200m


BALDY HOST – Near the 400m shifted in and made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced.

EMBRAER – Shifted out near the 400m and bumped EARLSTOUN RULER.

CASA CIELLO – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

BOLD NAVIGATOR – Shifted In at the start and bumped GUMDALE BOY. Raced wide throughout the event.

COLD AS ICE – Stewards accepted the explanation regarding the late notification of rider. Bumped on the hind quarters by GUMDALE BOY which shifted in shortly after the start.

D. McIntosh rider of MRS ASIA was fined $100 for failing to weigh in for 4th place when required to do so.






Race 5: SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL AUSTRALIA DAY B’MARK 65 1500m


AIR DIAMOND – Began awkwardly shifted out and made heavy contact with BATTANT GLORY.

BALINESE BOY – Inconvenienced near the 100m when CHINSKY shifted in under pressure.

QUICK SPUR – Raced wide from the 600m onwards.





Race 6: KPC CLASS B HCP 1500m


ROUGH AND RECKLESS – Fractious in the barriers and then reared as the start was effected and lost ground.

GET OUTA UTAH – Began awkwardly and then had to be steadied when tightened for room. Forced wider near the 900m and raced wide for the remainder of the event. Steadied from heels near the 300m when SNIPPET EXPRESS shifted in when insufficiently clear. App H. English was issued with a reprimand.

JAGNIWAS – Hung out and raced wide rounding the first turn near the 1200m.

SO QUICK – Placed in restricted room near the 900m and as a result commenced to overrace at heels and shifted out forcing GET OUTA UTAH wider on the track.

THE YES MAN – Had to be steadied from heels near the 800m when over-racing. Approaching the 400m had to be steadied when disappointed for a run.

WENSLEY ROAD – Had to be checked near the 400m when tightened for room by CAMBO’S MATE which was taken in by GET OUTA UTAH which shifted in abruptly despite the efforts of its rider after receiving a bump from SNIPPET EXPRESS. In all the circumstances stewards issued App M. Savva with a reprimand and advised her to exercise greater care in future.

GLENROCK MAX – Steadied leaving 400m when awkwardly placed at heels. Hampered near the 300m.

SNIPPET EXPRESS – Raced wide throughout the event.
