Race 1: TAB / SOMERSET REGIONAL COUNCIL QTIS Three-Year-Old
BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1200 metres
 
CHAMPAGNE TASTES – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
STELLARASHI – Began awkwardly. Rider S Collett advised her saddle shifted back in the early stages of the event which placed her at some disadvantage throughout the event.
 
SO ODELIA – Disappointed when attempting to improve into a run near the 250m.
 
 
Race 2: ARTHUR GRAY MEMORIAL Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
The start of this race was delayed owing to the bridle on FEE having to be replaced behind the barriers.
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing stewards to view the judges print after stewards had concerns with the numbers semaphored.
 
After viewing the photo finish image, stewards acting under AR214(4)(b), altered the determination made by the judge and declared correct weight on the following numbers:
 
1st                   SWEAR ON A PROMISE
Deadheat 2nd SIR EAMON
Deadheat 2nd GALLERY MASTER
4th                   FEELING TOFFY

ONE COOL DEEL - Jumped in at the start and bumped SIR EAMON.
 
SIR EAMONN – Jumped out at the start and bumped ONE COOL DEEL. Laid in under  pressure in the home straight and near the 100m shifted in crowding the running of FEELING TOFFY which was taken in resulting in FEE being restrained to avoid heels. S Collis, rider of SIR EAMON, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.  Trainer T Button was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of SIR EAMON.
 
FEELING TOFFY – Held up for clear running entering the home straight.

IDENTICAL – A short distance after the start laid out. Approaching the 600m improved onto the heels of SWEAR ON A PROMISE and had to be steadied. A post-race veterinary examination revealed symptoms of heat stress and a slow post-race recovery.
 
CONTESSA NILE – A short distance after the start was hampered when obliged to steady from the heels of IDENTICAL.
 
GALLERY MASTER – Began awkwardly.Over-raced in the early stages.Laid out near the 400m.
 
PERSONAL FIRE – Jumped out at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

FEE – On arrival at the barriers the bridle on the horse was refitted.
 
SWEAR ON A PROMISE – Laid out near the 400m.
 
THE GROUSE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
The track was upgraded to a Good 4 after this event.
 
 
Race 3: DICK FERLING MEMORIAL Maiden Plate 800 metres
 
BRUHN – Slow to begin. Momentarily inconvenienced near the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the near hindleg, consistent with having been galloped on.
 
GYRO RAISE – Bumped shortly after the start by KILLER REFLECTION.
 
DUTCHY'S ANGEL – Slow to begin. Near the 700m shifted in and away from LICENCED TO READY carrying POLYGAL in onto BRUHN which was momentarily inconvenienced.
 
KILLER REFLECTION – Slow to begin.
 
POLYGAL – Began awkwardly. Hampered near the 700m when DUTCHY’S ANGEL shifted in. Over-raced for a short distance passing the 700m.
 
ON THE TARGET – Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
PRIDE OF PASSION – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
GIDGET – Co-trainer Kylie Geran was fined $100 under LR67(1) for the late declaration of rider on the horse.
 
LICENCED AND READY – Become awkwardly placed at the heels of ON THE TARGET entering the home straight.
 
 
 
Race 4: KILCOY EXCHANGE HOTEL Class 1 Handicap 800 metres
 
NAJAH – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
DEECE SCENT KISS – Near the 700m shifted in and bumped SASSENAY which in turn bumped DREAMER’S GIFT. J Molloy, rider of DEECE SCENT KISS, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
 
POCKETROCKET – Slow to begin. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
CLEAR THE BILL – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
MOUNT PADRAO – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SASSENAY – Bumped near the 700m.
 
 
Race 5: IAN MCCAULEY OAM MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0 - 55
Handicap 1200 metres
 
SOCK'EMSID – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
AURORA DANCER – Jumped out at the start and bumped JADE’S MISSION.
 
DEVILLAIN – Raced three wide in the early and middle stages of the event before being forced four wide from the 500m. When asked to comment rider W Peel reported the horse travelled comfortably during the race however was not suited by being forced to race wide throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
JADE'S MISSION – Jumped in at the start and bumped AURORA DANCER.
 
DAWN COLOURS – Slow to begin.
 
BLOODBLISTER – Laid out rounding the first turn at the 800m and became unbalanced.
 
GEOTIME – Laid out rounding the home turn. Ian French, rider of GEOTIME, was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(i) for consecutive strikes of the whip prior to the 100m.
 
 
Race 6: MAX MILLS MEMORIAL RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1200 metres
 
FLICK – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Near the 400m laid in and became awkwardly placed at the heels of SUBAYI.
 
PRINCE OF DIAMONDS – Jumped out at the start and bumped BOUDICA'S GIFT. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ZABCAN – Slow to begin. Momentarily steadied from heels near the 400m. Became awkwardly placed at the heels of SUBAYI for some distance rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
FORT MYER – Began awkwardly.
 
BOUDICA'S GIFT – Bumped at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
WHY SHY – Rider M Castle accidently dropped her whip near the 200m.
 
SUBAYAI – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: MOZZA TURNS 50 TOMORROW BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1200 metres
 
IN'HINCHABLE – Near the 1000m over-raced for some distance at the heels of SPICY SONIC and had to be steadied. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SPICY SONIC – Jumped out abruptly at the start and bumped heavily with FORBIDDEN ONE. Laid out rounding the home turn.
 
IN GREAT NIC – Slow to begin.
 
FORBIDDEN ONE – Bumped heavily at the start. Raced wide from the 800m.
 
ZOU ZOUAMORE – Over-raced in the middle stages of the event.
 
 
Race 8: SEARLE GARDEN PRODUCTS SPRING CUP BENCHMARK 60
Handicap 1500 metres
 
BETTER ETHICS – Raced wide with cover from the 1000m. Rider J Molloy was reminded of his obligations to ride his mounts out fully to the end of the race.
 
After being loaded into the barriers ALL FAIRY PRINCE kicked out behind on multiple occasions, was removed, underwent a veterinary examination, and declared a late scratching at 4:34pm on veterinary advice. On declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered all bets on ALL FAIRY PRINCE to be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:
 
1st ATLANTIC RULE –5 c win, 4c place
2nd ULTIMATE POWER – 6c place
3rd BETTER ETHICS – 5c place 
 
CIRCLING – Over-raced in the early stages of the event.

WILL HE FOXTROT – Slow to begin.
 
ATLANTIC ROYAL – Jumped out at the start and bumped ABOVE THE LOT. Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
 
ABOVE THE LOT – Bumped at the start. Made the turn out of the home straight near the 1200m. Raced wide throughout.
 
MODERN FAMILY – Slow to begin.
 
MAMMA MEDIA – Jumped out at the start.
 
 
Race 9: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58
Handicap 1900 metres
 
BEG ME – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
BUDDY'S TALE – Passing the winning post on the first occasion hampered when GLASHABEE shifted in momentarily. Near the 300m was awkwardly placed at the heels of GLASHABEE and had to be steadied.
 
KINGS ROW – Jumped out at the start and bumped HE’S VIRAL.
 
HE'S VIRAL – Bumped at the start. Over-raced in the early and middle stages of the event on a number of occasions. Approaching the 300m had to be steadied away from the heels of the weakening YES NO MAYBE SO. Passing the 250m raced in restricted room to the inside of GLASHABEE which laid in at that point.
 
PRINENTE – Slow to begin. Passing the winning post on the first occasion raced in restricted room between THE ANGELS KISS and RECALL EVENTS. Passing the 800m had to be restrained when awkwardly placed at the heels of THE ANGELS KISS. Passing the 300m had to be restrained from the heels of BUDDY’S TALE which shifted out to avoid heels at that point.
 
THE ANGELS KISS – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
TYCOON PLAYER – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
