GENERAL
Due to predicted sultry weather conditions, this race meeting was conducted within the provisions of the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy.
Stewards accepted the reason for the late declaration of riders from trainer D. Rewald, noted below in the Race Day Summary.
Race 1: WALKER FAMILY CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1000 metres
SCENIC SIGHT – Travelled wide in the early stages then lay in down the home straight.
MISS RHAPSODY – Fractious prior to jumping then awkward away.
ZEBONET – Bumped by an side runner rounding the home turn.
NIGHT IN PARADISE – Contacted at the start.
NICKSY BOY – Jumped inwards contatcing an inside runner.
PURPLE TRUMPET – Hit the gate on jumping then brushed by another runner jumping awkwardly. Slow to muster speed in the early stages resenting the kickback.
Race 2: O’BRIENS GARAGE MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres
MOMENT TO CONQUER – Heavily contacted at the start.
NALSSENDORI – Contacted at the start, reluctant to stretch out in the early stages and taken to a wide position to avoid the kickback.
DESPERADO – Awkward and slow to begin.
ALL SORTED – Jumped inwards contacting an inside runner.
ROSARAYA – Lay in down the home straight then shifted in abruptly near the 120m after clearing the field.
Race 3: BARKERS NEWSAGENCY QTIS CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1200 metres
BLADE MAN – Contacted at the start then eased off heels shortly after the start when racing in restricted room.
RECONIS – Slow into stride then travelled wide for much of the race.
WON CAPILANO – Jumped inwards contacting an inside runner, then travelled wide.
THE LANDING – Jumped away awkwardly contacting another runner, eased off heels near the 1000m when racing in restricted room.
HOT CHOCOLATE – Slow to begin.
Race 4: XXXX GOLD PUBLICAN’S OPEN PLATE - 1300 metres
FAB’S COWBOY – Jockey E. Bell was reprimanded for careless riding when shortly after the start she let her mount shift in when not sufficiently clear causing back markers to be eased and lose ground. Jockey Bell was reminded of her obligations when shifting ground and to take greater care in similar circumstances.
I WANNA BE A JEEP – Eased off heels nearing the 1220m and changed course when FAB’S COWBOY came across when not sufficiently clear losing ground.
ECHO POINT -- Eased when avoiding the heels of I WANNA BE A JEEP shortly after the start when carted in by FAB’S COWBOY.
SAHAR – Slow to begin.
Race 5: G & G BROWNE SMASH REPAIRS BM 50 HANDICAP - 1400 metres
MANDEVILLE ROCKER – Resented the kick back in the middle stages and was hard ridden to maintain contact with the field. Held up for clear running from the 400m to the 200m then taken wider to obtain clear running.
AMADEO & SURPRISE SELECTION bumped on jumping. AMADEO then travelled wide for much of the race.
LADY SNITCH – Jumped outwards then slow into stride.
