Race 1: PATRON BILL WARE QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000 METRES

WHITTYKITTY – As jockey S. Wilson was to be overweight he was replaced by R. Shred. S. Wilson was fined the sum of $100. Checked and lost ground leaving the 600 metres when forced out across the heels of TOP CEEDEE.

MIDNIGHT RAIDER – Raced greenly in the early stages and hung out near the 600 metres tightening the running of WHITTYKITTY which was forced out across the heels of TOP CEEDEE. Trainer R. Baker will be advised a warning will be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

TOP CEEDEE – Hampered near the 600 metres by WHITTYKITTY which was forced outwards by MIDNIGHT RAIDER and as a result shifted wider.

ENDINAYE – Hampered near the 600 metres.

Stewards considered an objection lodged by rider F. Edwards the rider of ENDINAYE which finished second against TOP CEEDEE (N. Nelson ) being declared the winner on the grounds of interference leaving the 600 metres. It was established that TOP CEEDEE was hampered and shifted out near the 600 metres forcing ENDINAYE wider.  As stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that no one rider was at fault and that had this interference not occurred that ENDINAYE would have finished in front of TOP CEEDEE and as such stewards dismissed the objection and declared correct weight on the judge’s semaphored numbers.
