Race 1: Consolidated Tin Mines/Landmark QTIS Maiden Plate 1000 metres:
1st – YOU STILL OWE ME 2nd – FAVOURED ONE 3rd – HELOW TUCKER 4th – RED SHAWL

LADY’S GATHERING – Was standing awkwardly in the barriers and missed the start 2 lengths.

PERDANERITE – Shortly after straightening had to be steadied to avoid heels.

ZARIZMA – On return to scale Jockey W D’Avila reported that his mount failed to travel at any stage of the race which he attributed to the firm track.

CLASSIC BURLESQUE – When questioned regarding the poor performance Apprentice B Swaffer said that after being slow to begin his mount was then obliged to race wide throughout. He added that the mare was constantly under pressure and failed to travel comfortably at any stage of the race and was disappointing.

Race 2: Ravenshoe Hardware/Norweld Benchmark 65 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – BESIEGED 2nd – EREBUS 3rd – BOLT FROM THE BLUE 4th – SIGNIFICANT CHOICE

MR BULLISTA – Began awkwardly.

BOLT FROM THE BLUE – Bumped with another runner at the start.

KISS ME QUICK – Bumped with another runner at the start. Laid in under pressure in the straight.

EREBUS – Raced wide throughout.

BESIEGED – Jockey S Kaya was reprimanded under AR137A(a)(ii) for striking the gelding in a forehand manner 7 times prior to the 100m.

Race 3: Brown & Hurley Class B Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – ROUND THE CORNER 2nd – KISSER 3rd – DRAGON HART 4th – BUSH VERSION

KISSER – The explanation tendered by trainer Mr B Furber for the late declaration of Apprentice N Yadi was accepted.

RACING IN THE WIND – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

OUT OF THE BLUE – Slow to begin.

BUSH VERSION – Bumped with another runner at the start.

RUNABOUT – Bumped with another runner at the start. Jockey K Stone reported that his mount was inclined to lay out throughout the race.

LOVE YA STYLE – Passing the 100m had to be steadied when crowded.

RISING KING – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding which performed below market expectations Jockey S Wilson was at a loss to explain the performance other than the gelding travelled comfortably throughout the early stages however weakened from the 600m. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed a poor recovery rate.

Race 4: QLD Thermo King/Stocklick Trading Benchmark 70 Handicap 1350 metres:
1st – RATTUS CONATUS 2nd – DE LA SOUL 3rd – DE PALIO 4th – CASRON’S FELT

TOP SHELF SHUFFLE – Was a late withdrawal at 11.15am when the gelding was found to have swelling in the near fore fetlock. Trainer Ms S Hoffman was told that prior to racing again a veterinary certificate of fitness must be produced.

CARSON’S FELT – The explanation tendered by trainer Mr R Baker for the late declaration of Jockey S Kaya was accepted.

DEL PALIO – Began awkwardly.

Race 5: Mt Garnet Friendly Grocer MM/FNQ Up & Coming Stayers Benchmark 60 Handicap 1350 metres:
1st – HERE TO DASH 2nd – KAMARAH 3rd – TEST THE BEST 4th – WATCH THE RED

HERE TO DASH – Was slow to begin.

I’M MARIAH – Approaching the turn near the 600m had to be steadied to avoid heels.

PEMPERTON – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have been galloped on on the near hind leg.

HENASAR – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which weakened noticeably from the 400m revealed the gelding to be displaying cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer Mrs J Ryan was told that prior to racing again she must furnish a veterinary certificate of fitness including the results of an ECG then the gelding must perform satisfactorily in an official trial.
