VON SAGA – Checked after the start. Apprentice Tyler Leslight pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(5) for excessive whip use, in that he applied the whip to his mount on 18 occasions in totality. The license to ride in races of Mr Leslight was suspended for 8 days to commence midnight 05/11/2022 and conclude midnight 13/11/2022. When assessing penalty, stewards considered the riders guilty plea, forthright evidence and that this was his second offence under this particular rule.

In accessing penalty, stewards took into account the rider’s guilty plea, clear record and stewards could not be totally satisfied that his lack of vigour had materially impacted the result of the race.

FROZE – Over raced early when racing wide.

TRIPTONIC – Jockey Ashley Butler was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
