GENERAL
The following horses which had all raced at Mackay on the 8th of June were examined by the Veterinarian pre-race and cleared to race.
KUSUNOKI, MISS SCALINI, MOTAMAYIZ (GB), RECONDITE (IRE), SARNIA, TAMINGO FOLLIES, TORQUE SENSATION and TYCOON BABY
 
 
Race 1:THE BLACK NUGGET BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1550 METRES
 
SARNIA – Slow to begin and raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
STAMPEDE WARRIOR – Lay outwards in the home straight. Apprentice T Leslight was spoken to advisedly by the Stewards regarding the manner he used his whip over the concluding stages.
 
MILKY ROCKET – Lay outwards in the home straight.
 
WHISKEY ROW – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding rider C McIver advised in his opinion his mount failed to handle the track conditions and had failed to respond when placed under pressure.
 
 
Race 2:MINING & ENERGY UNION OPEN HANDICAP 1400 metres
 
VALLEY OF DREAMS – Raced wide throughout.
 
ANCIENT ECHOES – Raced wide through the early stages and improved wide on the home turn passing the 350m.
 
POLICE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
GRAND DE LAGO – N Summers was fined $300 pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m three more than permitted.
 
RECONDITE (IRE) – Brushed the running rail near the 900m. Tired over the final stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to disclose any abnormalities.
 
 
Race 3:BP MORANBAH QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1170 metres
 
TORQUE WITH PRIDE – Raced wide throughout. Lay inwards in the home straight.
 
SNUGGLE BANG YAHOO – Shifted out abruptly at the start and was slow to begin as a result. Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 4:HAHNLEC BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1170 metres
 
MISS SCALINI – Brushed the running rail passing the 800m.
 
MISHANI REBEL – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
ROCKY POET – Jumped away awkwardly. Shifted outwards near the 300m to obtain clear racing room.
 
TYCOON BABY – Difficult to load.
 
WREN PLUCKED – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Improved wide over the middle stages.
 
 
Race 5:OAKA CONSTRUCTIONS BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 1000 metres
 
TORQUE SENSATION – Jumped away awkwardly. Lay outwards in the home straight and had to be straightened.
 
FLAMING ASTEROID – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISS MIRACULOUS – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
MISHANI JEWEL – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
