Race 1: Mackay Show Holiday Race Day Packages Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st SNIPAROSE 2nd HARRY MET SANDY 3rd BYE BYE HAPPINESS 4th- ON THE BID

HAMPDEN BOY - Slow to begin. The rider reported that after being slow to begin, he pressured his mount to go forward and it commenced to over-race in the middle stages.

HORSTYLE - Jumped awkwardly and made contact with ON THE BID. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

HARRY MET SANDY - Began awkwardly and made contact with BYE BYE HAPPINESS.

SNIPAROSE - Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Urban Kitchens Catering At MTC Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st DAZZLUNA 2nd MISHANI INVADA 3rd ELSPETH'S STAR 4th - GUTZ CI

LOG CABIN - Prior to the race the gelding, which was resuming from November 2013, was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. The trainer's representative stated that the horse had not displayed any injury or condition that required a significant spell.

MISHANI INVADA and BARBOUGE - Made contact near the 200 metres.

STARMOSA - The explanation of trainer T. Haydon for the late arrival of the gelding on course was accepted. When questioned regarding the performance Jockey M. Morris stated that, while the gelding travelled well, it failed to respond to his riding in the straight on this occasion, and in his opinion raced differently from its previous start and may benefit from the addition of a tongue-tie to its approved gear. Trainer Haydon advised stewards that he had eased up on the gelding's training since its previous run, which may have affected its performance.

ELSPETH'S STAR - Jockey M. Cullen was found guilty of a charge under A.R. 137(b) in that he failed to ride the gelding out to the end of the race, which in the opinion of the stewards cost him second placing. Jockey Cullen’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 2 calendar weeks, to commence at midnight on 11th June 2015, up to 25th June 2015.

GUTZ CI - Slow to begin.

MISHANI INVADA - On jumping shifted out and made contact with SYMPHONY IN TIME, which was tightened for room by HOT PLATE, which had been taken in by SNITZEL ROSE, which shifted in. In the incident SYMPHONY IN TIME lost ground and HOT PLATE was hampered. Stewards sought an explanation from Jockey A. Allen regarding the performance of the filly. Jockey Allen stated that his instructions were to be positive out of the barriers however after beginning fairly he was of the opinion that the filly may have struck itself. He added that MISHANI INVADA raced wide in the early stages and had to be restrained to enable him to take cover. In the home straight, once able to obtain clear running his mount found the line well.

BARBOUGE - Raced wide throughout.

SYMPHONY IN TIME - Bumped at the start, tightened for room and lost some ground. Rider reported that his mount was inclined to hang out from the 800 metres and felt sore. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed that it had swelling of the near foreleg. Trainer R. Binder will be advised that she must obtain a veterinary clearance before the mare will be permitted to race again.

Race 3: Seven Mackay BM70 Handicap - 1560 metres
1st - IDLE SITUATIONS 2nd MURTLE MISS 3rd BOBCAT 4th- STRUTTER

MURTLE MISS - At the start shifted out onto another runner.

BLOWIN' YOUR MIND – Hampered by another runner at the start and lost ground.

FIELDS OF TUSCANY and MURTLE MISS - Made contact on a number of occasions after the start.

FIELDS OF TUSCANY- When questioned regarding the performance, Apprentice M. Powell stated that the gelding was disappointing. He said that he had anticipated racing in a more forward position, however was forced to take up a position towards the rear of the field. He added that the drop back in distance compared to its previous start, and having regard to its position in the field today, he placed the gelding under pressure from the 600 metres, made the home turn wide and in the circumstances he was of the opinion that the horse finished the race off fairly. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

SAN RAYMOND - Slow to begin and was further hampered when NUDGEE shifted inwards.

NUDGEE- Raced wide until near the 900 metres. Lost an off fore plate in running.

Race 4: The Coffee Club Mackay 2YO Plate - 1200 metres
1st ME MYSELF AND I 2nd WICKED CRIME 3rd SUPREME JET 4th – MISHANI REDMAN

RYLEE'S SAGA - Bounded in the air on jumping. Eased near the 900 metres.

SUPREME JET - Was a little slow to begin, over-raced near the 900 metres and had to be eased from heels.

ME MYSELF AND I - Leaving the 900 metres over-raced for a short distance.

WICKED CRIME - Rider reported that his mount raced greenly throughout. When questioned further regarding the performance, Jockey Stanley stated that the colt had been placed under pressure for the majority of the race, had failed to travel well, and in the home straight, when able to get balanced up, had found the line well. He added that, given the time lapse between its most recent run, the colt may have lacked fitness and may benefit from the addition of blinkers to its gear. Trainer R. Long confirmed that the colt will now be spelled.

Race 5: Kevin’s Place Class 3 Plate - 1300 metres
1st OKAY SWIFT 2nd WILDEBEAST 3rd THANKGODFORFRANC 4th - ORATRY

FIREFRONT - Was a little slow to begin and had to be eased from heels of another runner at the start.

THE PANTZ - Approaching the 900 metres over-raced for a short distance.

THANKGODFORFRANC - Near the 700 metres lay in momentarily and caused FIREFRONT to be tightened for room, become unbalanced and be steadied, at which stage Apprentice Attard relieved the pressure. Following the race it was noted that THANKGODFORFRANC had a superficial laceration to its off hind leg.

RISE TO THE TOP - Raced wide throughout.

Race 6: Winning Edge Presentations Handicap - 1300 metres
1st CLOUD DANCER 2nd BLAME GAME 3rd HOLDONTOYAHORSES 4th - ADDICTION TO ROCK

FRENCH LESSON - App. N. Vuille was fined $200 under A.R. 92 for claiming only 2.5kg of her 3kg allowance. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, App. Vuille stated that her instructions were to place the gelding under pressure from the barriers and take up a position where it was comfortable and then work into the race throughout. She said that she was mindful that she did not want to race wide on the turn, and over the concluding stages she was tightened for room between runners and in her opinion the horse was not fully tested. Trainer S. Hoffman said that the horse had only recently joined her stable; however she was aware that its runs had been spaced because of minor ailments. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that FRENCH LESSON was significantly lame in the near fore knee. Ms Hoffman was advised that she must provide a veterinary clearance before the gelding will be permitted to race again.

LUCASAM - A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had soreness in the off foreleg. Stewards will follow up with trainer R. Simpson.

CHAMPAGNE TAILS - Raced wide throughout.

LEXCEN - Raced wide throughout.

HOLDONTOYAHORSES - Approaching the 300 metres, held up and unable to gain clear running behind MAHRAJAAN, which was weakening, which resulted in HOLDONTOYAHORSES clipping heels, being checked and shifted in to obtain clear running.

Race 7: Mackay Grand Suites QTIS 3YO Handicap - 1200 metres
1st MISHANI VIKING 2nd NEVETUS 3rd AERIAL PING PONG 4th - CYCLONE KAN

NEVETUS - The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow trainer F. Wieland and Jockey D. Simmons to examine the patrol films to determine whether they had grounds to lodge an objection against MISHANI VIKING. Having done so, they elected not to proceed and correct weight was declared on the judge's numbers.

ONE BAR NONE - Began awkwardly and made contact with another runner. Raced wide until near the 700 metres. Made contact with another runner near the 1000 metres. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey D. Green stated that he was disappointed with the run. He stated that in the early stages he was caught wide but on being able to obtain cover, his mount failed to race well and was under pressure in the home straight. He added that in his opinion the weight and the time between runs may have had a negative effect on its run today. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

GLORIOUS GEORGE- Contact with another runner at the start, lost some ground and raced at the rear of the field

MISHANI VIKING - Near the 1000 metres made contact with another runner. Rider reported that his mount lay in in the straight and near the 100 metres NEVETUS was placed in restricted room and Jockey A. Allen, the rider of MISHANI VIKING, relieved the pressure.

DASH OF WIZZARD - Approaching the 400 metres bumped another runner.

ELEMENT OF CHANCE - Bumped and taken wider by another runner on 2 occasions approaching the 400 metres.
