Race 1: Peroni Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st MAN OF BUSINESS 2nd THEATRE BOY 3rd CIDARIS 4th - SOUL SERENADE

LIFE OF CRIME - Slipped over in the tie-up stalls. Acting on veterinary advice, stewards ordered the late scratching of the gelding at 11.49 a.m.

CIDARIS - Slow to begin then raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

MOLONGLE JOY - Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Contacted by another runner passing the 200 metres.

MAROON BLUE - Was held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.

SOUL SERENADE - Passing the 200 metres shifted out and made contact with MOLONGLE JOY.

THEATRE BOY - Jockey A. Butler reported that his mount, which was having its second start this way of going, was on the wrong leg throughout, had a tendency to lay out under pressure in the home straight and proved difficult to ride.

MAN OF BUSINESS - Over the concluding stages was inclined to lay out under pressure.

Race 2: Toxfree Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st FORGOTTEN DESTINY 2nd AVELLINO 3rd REMOS 4th - ALPINE GOLD

ALPINE GOLD - Was fractious in the barriers, examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Rounding the turn near the 700 metres shifted in, despite the efforts of its rider, and crowded BLUE DANUBE, which had to be checked.

BLUE DANUBE - Rounding the turn near the 700 metres was crowded for room by another runner and had to be checked.

ROSELLA EAGLE - A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare was displaying respiratory distress. Trainer K. Price was told that she must furnish a veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic analysis, prior to the mare being permitted to race again.

STARMOSA - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

Race 3: Toxfree Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st - OH YEAH 2nd ROUND THE CORNER 3rd RACEY MACEY 4th - TANZANITE

RACEY MACEY - Began awkwardly and lost ground.

ROUND THE CORNER and SNITZEL ROSE - Bumped at the start.

ZINDZELA - When questioned regarding the performance, Apprentice Vuille said that after being slow to begin she rode her mount along in the early stages, to comply with her instruction to be in a prominent position. Apprentice Vuille added that after this she was caught 4 wide without cover for the entirety of the event and attributed this to the filly's disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly did not reveal any abnormalities.

Race 4: Yalumba Wines QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap - 1300 metres
1st AERIAL PING PONG 2nd MORE NORTHERLY 3rd MISHANI INVADA 4th - GLORIOUS GEORGE

AERIAL PING PONG - Began awkwardly and then raced keenly in the lead.

MORE NORTHERLY - After being crossed in the early stages pulled hard and over-raced.

HOT PLATE - Was inclined to race ungenerously throughout the early and middle stages. Passing the 600 metres had to be checked when racing tight between runners.

MISHANI INVADA - Approaching the winning post bumped another runner.

GLORIOUS GEORGE - Approaching the winning post bumped with another runner.

Race 5: Australian Liquor Marketers Class 3 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st JUST CALL ME LOUIE 2nd VALJEAN 3rd CHOSEN SON 4th - THANKGODFORFRANC

SHERIDAN - Began awkwardly.

METEOROS - Crowded for room shortly after the start.

VALJEAN and CHOSEN SON - Brushed passing the 200 metres.

BANCHORY LASS - A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed that it had sustained minor lacerations to its mouth.

Race 6: Breaker Electrical Open Handicap - 1050 metres
1st VO HEART 2nd WHITSUNDAY EXPRESS 3rd MORE THAN A SONG 4th - MARINA SANDS

BO ROSSA - Slow to begin.

VO HEART - Began awkwardly.

MARINA SANDS - Laid out from the 600 metres. Apprentice Vuille dropped her whip rounding the home turn.

COVERT CHARMOUR - Following the race trainer L. Wright reported that the gelding had got its tongue over the bit and he will now add a tongue-tie to the horse's approved gear.

Race 7: Race Direct Australia Open Handicap - 1800 metres
1st - HOLDONTOYAHORSES 2nd - CASTLE EXPRESS 3rd - A DEPENDANT 4th - RADIANT JOY

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow connections of the 2nd placegetter, CASTLE EXPRESS, to view the photofinish video. Having done so, they were satisfied with the judge's placings and correct weight was declared.

HOLDONTOYAHORSES - Began awkwardly. Passing the 600 metres improved onto heels and had to be checked. Passing the 200 metres shifted out to obtain clear running and in doing so carried MASTER AVATAR out into the running of NEVZLIN, which was hampered. Jockey Dale Evans, the rider of HOLDONTOYAHORSES, was severely reprimanded.

IDLE SITUATION - When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey T. Bannon said that her mount travelled keenly in the lead, however even allowing for this, was disappointing in its failure to run on in the home straight.

Race 8: Manpower Services Class 6 Plate - 1300 metres
1st - HARD LIQUOR 2nd - PERFECT KNOWLEDGE 3rd - AUGUSTE 4th - GO DIGGER

PERFECT KNOWLEDGE - Began awkwardly. Over the concluding stages shifted in and away from another runner and hampered ROFRANOZ.

ROFRANOZ - Hampered by another runner over the concluding stages.

MIN MIN MAN - Raced wide for the majority of the race.

IMBOSTERIA - When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey D. Simmons said that after travelling comfortably in the early and middle stages, when a runner to his inside shifted out he was obliged to race 3 deep, however was under pressure prior to straightening and was disappointing.

CLEAVER - On returning to scale Jockey J. P. Stanley reported that after beginning awkwardly from a wide barrier, his mount settled back in the field and when attempting to improve into the race he was obliged to cover excessive ground and after shifting to the outside was disappointing.
