Race 1: MTC Corporate Alliance QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap - 1300 metres
1st KING MAX 2nd MISHANI ISTANA 3rd CHILLI CON CARNE 4th - CRAIGLEA ALDI

SONADOR'S LADY - Raced wide throughout.

WRIGHT IN IT - Raced greenly throughout the middle stages..

CRAIGLEA ALDI - Rounding the turn near the 800 metres was inclined to lay out, then shifted out abruptly, despite the efforts of its rider. The racing manners of the gelding were brought to the attention of the stable representative. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had aggravated an old wound to its mouth.

KING MAX - Passing the 800 metres was hampered and carried wider on the track.

HIDDEN THUNDER - When questioned regarding the poor performance Jockey J. P. Stanley stated that his mount never travelled comfortably throughout and in his opinion raced flat.

CHILLI CON CARNE - When questioned regarding his riding in the early stages, Jockey D. Evans stated that his mount was standing awkwardly, then began with its head in the air, resulting in him losing ground. He said that the gelding was then reluctant to hold its position when racing to the inside of other runners in the early stages. The explanation was noted.

Race 2: Great Northern Maiden Handicap - 1300 metres
1st RAKADAN 2nd MISS RICH 3rd CHAIN THE GATE 4th - HOT LOVE HIGHWAY

JORDANS JET - Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

REAL CI - Slow to begin.

GENERAL BEERS - Was standing awkwardly in the gates and then was slow to begin. Raced wide and greenly throughout.

OUR SINGLE DOUBT - Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight, then near the 200 metres was disappointed when attempting a narrow run.

Race 3: HOT FM Class 1 Handicap - 1800 metres
1st - VIRTUITY 2nd MISHANI ALLEGRO 3rd CORONATION JOURNEY 4th - FIREFRONT

SILVER BOWS - Slow to begin.

SAY MY NAME - Hampered rounding the first turn, near the 1600 metres.

NAVILLUS ESTHER - Rounding the turn near the 1600 metres was carried wider on the track by another runner, then from that point was allowed to stride forward and assume the lead.

CORONATION JOURNEY - Inclined to race keenly when the pace was slow in the early and middle stages. Trainer Mr M. Whitehouse reported that the gelding had been galloped on in running.

An inquiry into the running and handling of MISHANI ALLEGRO (App. K. Aho) was opened and adjourned to a date to be fixed.

Race 4: Emirates Melbourne Cup Tour in Mackay on 15 September BM70 Handicap - 1560 metres
1st RICHIE ROCKET 2nd ROFRANOZ 3rd MURTLE MISS 4th - SAN RAYMOND

KNOWING ME - Began awkwardly, then over-raced in the middle stages.

SERENE PEARL - Shortly after straightening for home was held up on the heels of a weakening runner.

PRETTY VACANT - On returning to scale the rider reported that his mount was inclined to hang out and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had slight soreness in the back.

Race 5: VB on Tap in Event Centre Fillies and Mares Class 2 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st ZINDZELA 2nd AVELLINO 3rd LUNAR LUCK 4th - SAMARAH GIRL

ANORO - Slipped behind on jumping. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare, which raced 3 wide without cover throughout and weakened over the concluding stages, revealed that the mare was lame in the off foreleg. Trainer C. Garland was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to ANORO being permitted to race again.

ZINDZELA - Pulled hard in the early stages.

Race 6: Smartstate Rentals C,G&E Class 2 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st VALJEAN 2nd TRICKY BOY 3rd LIFE OF CRIME 4th - VIKING GOOD THING

BRALGON - Slow to begin.

Passing the 800 metres LIFE OF CRIME (T. Bannon), which was inclined to over-race and lay in despite the efforts of its rider, shifted in and crowded the running of TRICKY BOY, which had to be checked.

LIFE OF CRIME - Laid in under pressure in the home straight and proved difficult to ride. Trainer B. Butts advised stewards that it was his intention to experiment with gear prior to the gelding's next start.

RHINO - Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.

Race 7: Blacks Real Estate Class 3 Plate - 1300 metres
1st - OH YEAH 2nd - ORATRY 3rd - ROCK OF FREEDOM 4th - MONTANA MAN

SUNNY CHIEF - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

MOSSIMO - Raced in restricted room in the early part of the home straight, then was disappointed for a run near the 200 metres.

MONTANA MAN - Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.

OH YEAH - Was inclined to race greenly over the concluding stages.
