Race 1: Taubmans/PPG QTIS 2-Y-O Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st TINTO ELEMENTO 2nd ALBERT THE ROCKET 3rd REDATAQ 4th - RELNINO

TINTO ELEMENTO - Slow to begin.

REDATAQ - Slow to begin.

CYCLONE FUGITIVE - Bumped with another runner shortly after the start. Raced wide without cover throughout.

FABULOUS CHILD - Shifted out abruptly rounding the home turn.

ALBERT THE ROCKET - Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Near the 100 metres shifted out and made contact with another runner.

RELNINO - Near the 100 metres was bumped by another runner.

NO FINER JET - When questioned regarding the run of the filly, which performed below market expectations, Apprentice Q. Krogh said that after being slightly tardy to begin, he rode his mount along in the early stages in an attempt to obtain a handy position. He said, however, that his mount never travelled comfortably at any stage of the race and was disappointing.

Race 2: Onesteel Reinforcing BenchMark 65 Handicap - 1100 metres
1st ELJAY ATOM 2nd ANZUS 3rd OUR SINGLE DOUBT 4th - PANTALETTES

PANTALETTES - Began awkwardly, then over-raced in the early and middle stages. Shortly after straightening was disappointed for a run and had to be steadied.

OUR SINGLE DOUBT - Slow to begin.

WE FOUND IT - Raced wide without cover throughout.

ELJAY ATOM - Over the concluding stages was bumped by another runner.

Race 3: Woodman's Glass & Aluminium Maiden Plate - 1200 metres
1st - MUSCLE TRUCK 2nd NORUDDER NOCOMPASS 3rd MISS HAVISHAM 4th - ZATOCHIO

During the loading process JORDANS JET reared over, resulting in its rider, Jockey J. Felix, sustaining an injury to his leg that required medical treatment. At the same stage KHADIJA (Apprentice G. Mitchell) became fractious in the barriers, was examined by the Club veterinary surgeon and acting on his advice stewards ordered the late scratching of both runners at 1.45 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on JORDANS JET and KHADIJA be refunded and that the following deductions apply:

8¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, MUSCLE TRUCK
7¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, MUSCLE TRUCK
6¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, NORUDDER NOCOMPASS
16¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, MISS HAVISHAM

Trainer Mr W. Pomfrett advised stewards that JORDANS JET will now be retired from racing.

When Jockey J. Felix required medical attention and was taken to hospital, all runners were sent back to the tie-up stalls and all remaining races were rescheduled as follows: Race 3, 1.52 p.m.; Race 4, 2.32 p.m.; Race 5 3.10 p.m.; Race 6, 3.45 p.m.; Race 7, 4.45 p.m.

Rounding the turn near the 700 metres LA JLIETTE (Apprentice M. Haley) shifted in abruptly and carried NORUDDER NOCOMPASS (Jockey D. Hayse) in, resulting in that runner being awkwardly placed on the heels of THAT PRETTY GIRL (App. Q. Krogh) and losing ground. Apprentice Haley was reprimanded.

LA JULIETTE - On returning to scale Apprentice Haley reported that his mount hung out throughout the race, placing him at a disadvantage.

NORUDDER NOCOMPASS - Hung in under pressure in the early part of the straight.

Race 4: Woodman's Steeline Roofing Centre Bracelet BenchMark 60 Handicap - 2000 metres
1st PERFECTLY ALIGNED 2nd - WHITE TURF 3rd - SIX BEAT 4th - ELOVACHILL

MARIO - When no suitable rider was available, stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the gelding at 1.59 p.m.

BEG PARDON - As the start was effected threw its head up and lost ground, then raced fiercely in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward and assume the lead.

JOHANTEE - Slow to begin and pulled hard in the early stages.

PERFECTLY ALIGNED - Got its head up when being restrained in the early stages.

ELOVACHILL - When questioned regarding the gelding racing further forward today, Jockey D. Hayse explained that from the wide draw, and as the gelding has a tendency to over-race, he was instructed to ride the gelding in a forward position. Trainer Ms O. Cairns was reminded of her obligation to inform stewards of any change of tactics.

Race 5: Mackay Rural Entec Cup Open Handicap - 1800 metres
1st FASTNET FLYER 2nd - STOP CRYING 3rd - CLENSING ALE 4th - JUNEE BOY

HOSTILE OWNERS - As Jockey J. Felix was injured, Apprentice B. Grylls was substituted.

STOP CRYING - Crowded for room at the start.

CLEANSING ALE - Got its head up when being restrained in the early stages, in an attempt to find cover, then was inclined to race keenly.

NELAMOS - Approaching the 200 metres was momentarily inconvenienced.

Jockey K. Aho pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R 137(a) in that approaching the 1100 metres she allowed PACHAMAMA to shift out when insufficiently clear of CLEANSING ALE (Jockey D. Hayse), which had to be checked to avoid the heels of that runner. PAYTEEVEE (Jockey N. Day), which was following, was also hampered. Jockey Aho was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight, 28th May 2016, up to and including Thursday 9th June 2016.

When questioned regarding his riding of PAYTEEVEE, Jockey N. Day said that he had been instructed to ride the gelding back in the field, in accordance with its established racing pattern. He said that after beginning awkwardly he then rode his mount along in the early stages, however he maintained a position at the rear of the field. He stated that he elected to remain racing one off the running rail as the gelding has a tendency to over-race. Jockey Day added that near the 1200 metres he was hampered and lost further ground, and his mount travelled only fairly from that point and was under pressure from near the 600 metres. Trainer Mr J. Manzelmann said that in light of the gelding's poor performance he will discuss the immediate racing program of PAYTEEVEE with connections.

Race 6: Woodman's Mitre 10 Maria Stehbens Memorial - 1100 metres
1st EXECUTED 2nd - MARINA SANDS 3rd - STRAIGHT GOLD 4th - ASSIMILATOR

ASSIMILATOR - Slow to begin, then was crowded shortly afterwards.

STRAIGHT GOLD - Rounding the turn near the 700 metres was inclined to race keenly, shifted in and hampered TERMS OF TRADE. DAPH 'N' ALF, which was following, was hampered.

MARINA SANDS - Raced wide throughout.

FAST FOCUS - For some distance near the 500 metres had to be steadied when racing tight to the inside of another runner.

SPORTING PAGE - A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which hung in badly in the straight resulting in its rider being unable to place his mount under pressure, did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr R. Adair was told that prior to racing it must perform satisfactorily in a trial.

DAPH 'N' ALF - When questioned Jockey G. Kliese said that after beginning fairly and when runners to his inside showed superior speed, he elected to ride his mount in a rearward position with cover, where it travelled comfortably throughout, however after being inconvenienced near the 700 metres lost further ground. He said that approaching the home turn he was in a winnable position, however the gelding failed to respond to his riding and went to the finish only fairly. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Race 7: Mackay Truss & Timber Halle Connor Memorial BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1300 metres
1st JEWELLERY THIEF 2nd LAMERICAN 3rd - BEYOND 4th - STYLISH LUCK

ROCKIN' READY - Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had ruptured its off fore suspensory apparatus. Trainer Ms J. Amory was advised that prior to the gelding racing again she must provide a veterinary clearance.

BEYOND - Began awkwardly.

MOSSIMO - Raced fiercely in the early stages and refused to settle.

SAMARAH GIRL - Raced keen when wide in the early and middle stages.

THE BEST - Inclined to lay out in the middle stages.

STYLISH LUCK - Raced wide throughout.

STAR TRUCE - Held up in the early part of the straight and did not obtain clear running until passing the 200 metres.
