GENERAL
 
Stewards accepted explanations tendered for a number of late riders which are listed as per Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: MTC 100 BENCHMARK 65 H'CAP – 1050M
 
SUSSEX STREET - Delayed the start when became fractious in the barriers, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
 
AUTHENTIC SWING – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
LUCKY CLOVER – Began awkwardly, shifted out bumping another runner. Hung out under pressure in the home straight, rider stopped riding for a short distance near the 100m to straighten mount. Rider Z. White was fined the sum of $100 in that she returned to scale in excess of half a kilogram over her allotted weight.
 
FROM THE DARKNESS – Bumped at the start.
 
MAHRAJAAN – Over-raced early stages of the race.   
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 2: 4MK BENCHMARK 65 H’CAP – 1560M
 
KNOWING ME – Raced wide early stages until improving forward leaving the 1200m and racing outside the leader.
 
DANE SLUGGER – Over-raced for a short distance approaching the 1200m.
 
Trainer I. Shaw was questioned into the improved performance of RAPIDSET as compared to its previous start. Mr Shaw explained that due to recent weather and particularly leading up to the mare’s previous start he had not been unable to work RAPIDSET as he had wished, he further advised it had been a consideration that the mare be sent for spell after that run however it had pleased him in the following days. Whilst stewards noted the explanation, Mr Shaw was reminded of his obligation to advise Stewards of any occurrence prior to acceptance time that may have a bearing on a horse’s performance.          
 
 
Race 3: PAYNE PRINT QTIS 2YO H'CAP – 1100M
 
The start was delayed due to PARADIS IMPERIAL being late onto the track due to saddling difficulties.
 
ZOFFANY ROCKET – Slow to begin.
 
LYON’S MANE – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and as a   result raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
NASTY GAL – Over-raced in the early stages of the race.
 
Following this race rider C. Jokic was examined by the ambulance officers and was stood down from further engagements. Ms Jokic was advised she must provide a medical clearance prior to her next race ride. Replacements were made as per Stewards Summary.     
 
 
Race 4: UBET MAIDEN H'CAP – 1560M
 
BAYSIDE BANDIT – Began awkwardly, shifted out at the start and lost ground. Shifted wider approaching the1200m until a point near the 800m to assume a position outside the leader.
 
GUNGA GALUNGA – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
MISTY ISLAND – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.
 
ISIS HUSSON – Raced wide in the middle stages of the race.
 
TROPICAL STORM – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
SHADOW BOLT – Became awkward on the heels of a tiring runner near the 300m and was restrained and shifted wider.
 
GENERAL BEERS – Over-raced in the middle stages of the race.
 
OUR TAXI CI – Hung out for the majority of the race and shifted wider in home straight. Trainer J Campeao was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings racing manners.
 
 
Race 5: WHITSON & DAWSON RATINGS BAND 0 - 60 H'CAP – 1200M
 
BOCEPHUS – Threw its head in the air when being restrained and raced ungenerously for a short distance after the start.
 
BECCA THE JET – Momentarily steadied near the 800m when placed in restricted room to the inside of other runners.
 
LA PRENSA – Improved onto heels near the 400m and steadied. Shifted out to obtain clear running leaving the 200m and bumped another runner.
 
FABULOUS CHILD – Bumped by another runner near the 200m. Steadied when racing in restricted room near the 100m.
