A further veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near fore leg, trainer Mr J. Stewards inquired into an incident that took place near the 1000m which resulted in LUARICA (D. Simmons) clipping heels  and blundering. After taking evidence from Apprentice Z. White, the rider of TINTO ELEMENTO, D. Sparks,(MOLONGLE MAGIC), D. Simmons (LUARICA), D. Hayse (REDATAQ), J. Woodhouse (SMOOCH), and S. Sheargold (SECURITY BELLE) and viewing the patrol films, stewards established that REDATAQ and LUARICA had been tightened for room on jumping between MOLONGLE MAGIC and SMOOCH, and those 4 horses continued to race tight approaching the 1000m, where TINTO ELEMENTO shifted out marginally, resulting in MOLONGLE MAGIC  shifting out and away from that runner, placing LUARICA in restricted room between MOLONGLE MAGIC and REDATAQ. As a result of this tightening LUARICA clipped the heels of REDATAQ and blundered, losing ground. As stewards could not attribute the incident to careless riding by any one rider, it was recorded as a racing incident.
