Race 1: ICEWORKS Benchmark 70 Handicap 1100 metres:
1st – ROMANTICIZE 2nd – WHAT THE HECK 3rd – AMAZING MOSS 4th – MENELAION
SHIMAZU – Began awkwardly. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
ROMANTICIZE – Crowded between runners at the start.
WHAT THE HECK – Shifted in abruptly at the start. Raced wide in the early stages.
JETEYE WARRIOR – Upon returning to scale Jockey S.McGovern reported the gelding never travelled comfortably throughout the race and weakened significantly over the concluding stages.
Race 2: SURF N TURF Class 3 Plate 1450 metres:
1st – BROTHER BOB 2nd – JESSETTE 3rd – RETURN TICKET 4th – BOWLED OVER
Apprentice M.Savva was reprimanded under AR.175(k) for taking an unreasonable amount of time to weigh out.
BROTHER BOB – Jumped awkwardly throwing its head in the air.
RETURN TICKET – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
BOWLED OVER – Tightened for room passing the 600m. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
VILLAINOUS LASS – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
Race 3: ICEMAN Class 3 Plate 1200 metres:
1st – STEINBERG 2nd – COURT ACTION 3rd – ESKERVINTH 4th – SIMON BON ROCKET
SIMON BON ROCKET – Slow into stride.
MOSSALE – Passing the 200m was inconvenienced when another runner shifted out.
EXCEEDED – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
ESKERVINTH – Shifted wider on the track passing the 200m losing ground.
Race 4: BEEF & BARRA Class 1 Handicap 900 metres:
1st – FLAMINGO ROSE 2nd – GRISWALD 3rd – GO ROCKET 4th – STARLET
When no other rider was available stewards permitted jockey T.Chambers to ride STARLET 2kg over its declared weight.
KENTUCKY BOY – Slow to begin.
GOLD VISION – Slow into stride.
JOKES ASEIDE – Bumped with another runner at the start. After completing the race the gelding collapsed approximately 200m past the winning post. Upon veterinary examination the gelding was found to be deceased and it was suspected to have suffered heart failure. A swab sample was obtained from the gelding.
STARLET – Bumped with another runner at the start. Inclined to hang out in the early stages.
Race 5: CRAB & CROC Class B Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – DIURNAL TIGER 2nd – TOO MANY LIES 3rd – SERENE ROCKET 4th – GENERAL SON
When no other rider was available stewards permitted jockey T.Chambers to ride GENERAL SON 1/2kg over its declared weight.
GENERAL SON – Reared as the start was effected losing ground. Raced wide rounding the home turn.
SERENE ROCKET – Slowly away.
