Race 1: Benchmark 70 Handicap 1450 metres:
1st – REVEL IN THE CHAOS 2nd – REQUIREMENT 3rd – MANDALONG PASS 4th – RHYTHM ‘N’ RAP

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey J.Kropp to ride MOSSALE 1.5kg over its declared weight.

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey J.Esser to ride REQUIREMENT 3kg over its declared weight.

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey D.Ballard to ride ESKERVINTH 3.5kg over its declared weight.

SNAZZY SOX was a late withdrawal at 8am when no suitable rider was available.

DEFINITELY BAY was a late withdrawal by order of stewards acting on veterinary advice at 1.30pm when the gelding was found to be lame. Trainer C.Hampton was advised a veterinary certificate of fitness would be required prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.

MOSSALE – Slow away.

REQUIREMENT – Jockey J.Esser was fined $400 under the provisions of AR137A(5)(a)(i) & (ii) for using the whip in consecutive strides and for striking his mount on twenty-three occasions prior to the 100m, eighteen more than permitted under the rule.

Race 2: Benchmark 65 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – KAYAN 2nd – BUSH LAWYER 3rd – JOHNNYDRAMA 4th – I’M DESPERATE TOO

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey J.Kropp to ride I’M DESPERATE TOO 1.5kg over its declared weight.

EXCEEDED was a late withdrawal at 8.30am when it was unable to be loaded and transported to the track.

BROTHER BOB – Jumped awkwardly losing ground.

KAYAN – Wide throughout.

Race 3: Open Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – FORTZA 2nd – DEL PALIO 3rd – COURT ACTION 4th – PISMO BEACH

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey S.McGovern to ride PISMO BEACH 2.5kg over its declared weight.

RIALTO GUY was a late withdrawal at 8am when no suitable rider was available.

GOT SWAG – Slow into stride. Weakened noticeably passing the 600 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

Race 4: QTIS Maiden Plate 1200 metres:
1st – CRAIGLEA SWIFT 2nd – FIRST PAIGE 3rd – RIVER RISING 4th – ALBEZZERA

CHARLIE CLANG was a late withdrawal at 8am when no suitable rider was available.

ALBEZZERA – Shifted out abruptly at the start. Apprentice G.Mitchell advised that the mare was having it’s second start in the North-West and failed to handle the conditions early in the running however finished strongly and will benefit greatly from today’s run.

CRAIGLEA SWIFT – Apprentice T.Tincknell was reprimanded under AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for striking her mount on nine occasions prior to the 100m, four more than permitted under the rule.

Race 5: Benchmark 55 Handicap (Div 1) 1200 metres:
1st – ROMANTICIZE 2nd – BUENA VIDA 3rd – DIURNAL TIGER 4th – SHOW US THE WAY

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey S.McGovern to ride SHOW US THE WAY 2kg over its declared weight.

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey J.Kropp to ride SNAZZY SOX 1kg over its declared weight.

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey J.Esser to ride BAMBY 1.5kg over its declared weight.

ENCORONADA was a late withdrawal at 8am when no suitable rider was available.

ELKALATO was a late withdrawal at 8am when no suitable rider was available.

ROMANTICIZE – When questioned regarding the mare’s improved performance Trainer K.Krogh advised that the mare consistently performed well at the Mount Isa track and in today’s favourable conditions the win was not remarkable. Stewards accepted the explanation.

Race 6: Benchmark 55 Handicap (Div 2) 1200 metres:
1st – MORE TO IT 2nd – SUBOSAMI 3rd – TOO MANY LIES 4th – SPURS ON

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey J.Kropp to ride MORE TO IT 1kg over its declared weight.

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey D.Ballard to ride COMMANDING SPUR 2kg over its declared weight.

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey J.Esser to ride SHIMAZU 3kg over its declared weight.

TOP EAGLE – As the gelding was having its first race start in 12 months stewards ordered a pre-race veterinary inspection and subsequently TOP EAGLE was cleared to take its place in the field.

FOUAREE – Crowded between runners at the start.

SUBOSAMI – Raced in restricted room from the 1000 metres and had to be steadied off heels at the 800 metres.
