Race 1: Benchark 45 Handicap 900 metres:
1st – WORLD OF PAIN 2nd – LITTLE VICTORIES 3rd – SHOW US THE WAY 4th – RIVERS END
Jockey A Spradau was fined the sum of $200.00 under the provisions of AR.120(b) when unable to make the allotted weight for SHOW US THE WAY after having accepted the ride. As no other rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey Spradau to ride the gelding 1 kilogram overweight.
MOJAVE ROYALE – Was reluctant to load. Jockey T Brummell reported that the mare had lost her footing on jumping.
LITTLE VICTORIES – Was fractious in the barriers.
WORLD OF PAIN – Kicked out behind as the barriers opened.
SHOW US THE WAY – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
ZATSACAT - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Resented the kickback in running.
WISENHEIMER – Was slowly into stride after being crowded between runners on jumping.
Race 2: Open Plate 1000 metres:
1st – CRAIGLEA CRUZ 2nd – FIVE O’CLOCK 3rd – WILL’S CHOICE 4th – ALBERTIQUE
The start of this event was delayed whilst Paramedics attended to an injured Barrier Attendant who was subsequently transported to hospital.
DARCEY - Was reluctant to load. Was slowly into stride. Jockey S Galvin was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of AR137A for using the whip on DARCEY on 7 occasions prior to the 100 metres.
Race 3: Class 3 Plate 1450 metres:
1st – MAN OF MELODY 2nd – MR PEPPERS 3rd – SNAZZY SOX 4th – MAHONGA
MAN OF MELODY – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Jockey T Chanbers was issued with a reprimand under the provisions of AR137A for using the whip on MAN OF MELODY on 8 occasions prior to the 100 metres.
MR PEPPERS - Bumped with another runner on jumping.
SHIMAZU – Jockey J Esser reported that the gelding had dropped the bit mid-race and had raced ungenerously, despite his urgings, from that point to the home turn.
MAHONGA – Hung out badly rounding the home turn placing App. T Tincknell at a severe disadvantage. Trainer Mr. P Miller was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
Race 4: Open Handicap 1450 metres:
1st – THE GALLOWS 2nd – CARRY ME 3rd – GUN AND POWER 4th – WHAT THE HECK
GUN AND POWER – Was unable to muster pace in the early stages after being slowly away.
Race 5: Benchmark 50 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – SPLASH OUT 2nd – MORE TO IT 3rd – ROMANTICIZE 4th – REQUIREMENT
ROMANTICIZE – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Was unable to muster pace when the tempo quickened in the middle stages.
FRISCO JOURNEY - Bumped with another runner on jumping.
