Race 1: STAR TYRE POWER KINGAROY MAIDEN PLATE – 800M
After viewing footage stewards became aware that SMOOTH AND SNEEKY(6) and MISS ALEXANDRA(5) started from the incorrect barrier stalls. It was established that SMOOTH AND SNEEKY started from barrier stall (5) and MISS ALEXANDRA started from barrier stall (6) Stewards were comfortable that this error did not affect the placings. In a subsequent inquiry it was established that Jockey L. McCoy and App. A. Spinks had made sufficient effort to make the Starter aware that they were in the incorrect barrier stalls however due to miss communication between the Starter and Barrier Staff this was not corrected. Stewards advised the Starter that in future he should find another way to communicate with Barrier Staff so that this would not happen again.
MISS ALEXANDRA - Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

CEARNACH - Made contact with another runner on jumping.
BUSH BEAT - Made contact with another runner on jumping.
MONTE LAGO - Jockey I. Coombes reported that the gelding did not travel comfortably in the early stages however over the concluding stages he felt that MONTE LAGO felt was doing its best work and his opinion believed that the horse would improve over a longer journey.
Race 3: MAKCOLM MACCALLUM MEMORIAL QTIS MAIDEN H’CAP – 1200M
LUCKY DIPPER - Slow away. Held up in the last 100m and was unable to be fully tested.
LILLIAN ELIZA - Raced wide throughout.
VANCOUVER STAR - Raced wide early and middle stages.
LITTLE CHA CHA - Restrained from heels at the 1000m. Trainer I. Dowden reported post-race that the Filly had sustained a slight laceration to its near side cannon.
Race 4: NANANGO TOURISM & DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION CLASS 2 H’CAP – 1200M
On return to scale a protest was lodged by Jockey L. Appo, rider of 2nd place getter, NADOR, against CHILLDOWN (L. McCoy) being declared the winner, alleging interference over the final 100m. After taking evidence from parties concerned and viewing the stewards patrol footage stewards established that CHILLDOWN shifted out over the final stages resulting in contact being made to NADOR. Stewards were comfortable that the inference suffered and bearing in mind the nose margin between the two runners warranted a reversal on the placings and therefore the protest was upheld and the judge's placings amended to read:
No. 3 - NADOR - 1st
No. 4 - CHILLDOWN - 2nd
No. 2 - HOPETOUN STREET - 3rd
No. 5 - LADY WIVENHOE - 4th
HOPETOUN STREET - Raced wide throughout.
LADY WIVENHOE - Made the home turn wide.
SCRATCHY - Jockey G. Geran reported that at the 600m after being on heels he elected to follow NADOR (L.Appo) the eventual winner to stay in a one off position instead of electing to shift wider to obtain clear running. However at the 550m ROUGH AND RECKLESS (App. J. Hodge) shifted in when tiring resulting in SCRATCHY racing on heels, having to check and being held up until entering the home straight. App. J.Hodge (ROUGH AND RECKLESS) was issued a reprimand.
Race 5: JOHN DUNDAS AUTOMOTIVE GROUP BM60 H’CAP – 1600M
ANNIHILATION - Made contact with another runner on jumping.
