Race 1: HASSAD BENCHMARK 60 800M HANDICAP

SATANS CHARIOT (Appr. S. Palmer) jumped out and bumped another runner.

HIDDEN DUCK (Appr. J. King) became tightened for room and held up briefly between SEAZA (Appr. Q. Krogh) and SATANS CHARIOT.

NOVARUPTA (S. Egan) travelled wide throughout.

CYCLONE HENNY (C. Bryen) was bumped by another runner and lost significant ground soon after the start.

Race 2: ELDERS ADDED STAKES QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M

Prior to leaving the mounting yard for this event MISS TRACE appeared to resent the handling by the Strapper, reared slightly resulting in the stapper sustaining an injury to his arm. Mr Webb was treated by the Ambulance staff. Stewards spoke to Jockey D. Brown and Trainer Mr B. Shepherd regarding this matter. Stewards accepted both parties’ comments and took no further action in relation to this matter.

BUTTER FACE (J.Geppert) proved difficult to load.

RINGING RUPERT (J. Rudd) travelled wide throughout.

Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr R. Robb regarding the seemingly disappointing performance of COSY RUG. Mr Robb could offer no reason as to the horse’s performance and thought he would run well today. The horse was examined by the attending Veterinarian and no abnormalities were detected.

Stewards spoke with Trainer Pat Webster regarding the seemingly improved performance of his horse THE CHARMED ONE at today’s meeting. Mr Webster stated he felt the filly would run well today as it had been working very well and the stable thought the change in gear and drop in class would help the horse’s chances today. Stewards accepted Mr Webster’s explanation.

Race 3: SPRINGVALE GOATS CLASS B HANDICAP 1000M

JACK N TAJ (Appr. S. Palmer) jumped out at the start and made contact with CLOVERLEAF (M. Hackett).

KIRKHEATON (S. Egan) and GENERAL NICK (D. Brown) made contact shortly after the start.

NOTHING BUT GOLD (Appr. K.Nakata) made contact with MONARCHY (C.Bryen) shortly after the start.

KIRKHEATON over raced during the middle stages of the event.

GENERAL NICK shifted out at the 400M point and lost ground.


Race 4: MINNAMURRA PASTORAL Co. NOORAMA CUP OPEN 1200M HANDICAP.

PRIVATE DOWNS (D. Brown) was slow to begin.

ELLIE LE VIE (Appr. Q.Krogh) drifted out at the 400M and lost ground.


RACE 5: BYDAND BENCHMARK 60 1200M HANDICAP

KING BROWN (J.GEPPERT) was tightened for room at the start.
