 OAKLEY AMATEUR PICNIC RACE CLUB.
OAKLEY   - SATURDAY  13th May,  2023   (DAY 2).
Weather: Fine             Track:Dirt  Good.        Rail:  – TRUE

GENERAL   .  No Bookmakers or Photo Finish operated at this meeting. All starts were by means of a flag fall  All riders who competed were licensed Approved Riders.  All prizes were in the form of trophies only.    
Race Two the BOOTH RURAL RESTRICTED TROPHY 2  (Set Weights). 1000  metres was divided into two divisions owing to the number of riders available and  maximum field sizes.

Race 1: CALLAN ARCHER TRANSPORT MAIDEN PLATE.  (Set Weights).  1000 Metres). 
No racing incidents

Race 2:  BOOTH RURAL RESTRICTED TROPHY 2. (Set Weights). 
1000 Metres.     DIVISION ONE.
BAUHINIA DROUGHT   Began awkwardly.
CEDAR ROAD -  Slow to begin.  Rider Mr B. McGregor was reprimanded under the provisions of AR 132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on seven occasions prior to the 100 metres. 
 
Race 3:  COLEMAN STOCKFEEDS- COLIN COLEMAN MEMORIAL OPEN TROPHY RACE.   (Set Weights).  1200 Metres. 
ZAHA DREAM – Rider Ms A. Davis reported that she lost her off side iron in the score up at  the start and was inconvenienced for a short time.  
CHESNEY – slow to go.
DIAMOND RACER  - Began awkwardly.
THIN DISGUISE -  Raced wide most of the way.
 
Race 4:  T WESTON HELICOPTER SERVICES RESTRICTED TROPHY 6.   (Set Weights).   1200 Metres. 
GOLD SAY -  Lost considerable ground at the start.
EXCEL WITH REWARD - Lost considerable ground at the start and raced wide rounding the  home turn. 
SUMMMER LEA -  Lost considerable ground at the start.
 
Race 5.  BALANZ PRESIDENT’S GIFT OPEN TROPHY.  Set Weights.  1000 Metres.
 STYLISH SON – Raced wide for the majority ands showed signs of distress immediately after the race.  Veterinary examination revealed the gelding was resenting the tongue tie.  Horse incident report No, 11521 refers and the gelding quickly recovered on removal of the tongue tie. 
BEYOND PASSION – Raced wide the majority. 
 
Race 6:  WILSON RYAN AND GROSE LAWYERS 2023 KOOROORINYA CUP  OPEN TROPHY. (Set Weights).  1600 Metres. 
BORN WILD – Lost considerable ground at the start.
WELL CHARRED   - Raced wide for the majority. 
 
Race 7:   BRODIE AGENCIES RESTRICTED TROPHY 4. (Set Weights). 1200 Metres.
 HARVEY STAR -  Late scratching at 3.54pm by order of Stewards acting on veterinary advice. Veteriinary examination revealed the gelding was suffering a  mild choke.  Horse Incident Report No, 11521 refers.  No further action required. 
SHERIFF KENDELL – Took no part in the race after failing to participate when the start was effected. 
THE ALAMO – Slow to go.
BONNY BRIE – Slow to go.
 
Race 8:  BOOTH RURAL RESTRICTED TROPHY 2. (Set Weights). 
1000 Metres  DIVISION TWO.

SAINT NO MORE –  Over raced and wide in the early stages.
HAYYLER’S MOUNTAIN  - Raced wide in the early stages.
