RACE 1: COMBINED AGENTS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1100M

CARLSONS COTTON – Was slow to begin. Laid out rounding the first turn and raced wide from that point on.

CROISSANTS – Raced in a three wide position for the majority of the event.

TOYETTE – Was sow to begin. Laid out rounding the first turn.

HEARTOFTHEOUTBACK – Raced in a wide position for the majority of the event. Hung out rounding the home turn.

CELEBRATION MISS – Laid in near the 600m making contact with the running rail. Rider reported at scale that the mare had a tendency to lay out over the concluding stages which he attributed to the kick back.



RACE 2: APV CONTRACTING CLASS B HCP – 1100M

ANSOUIS – Jumped in the air at the start and lost ground. When questioned in regards to the disappointing performance of Ansouis, S. McCullum stated that after losing ground at the start, the mare resented the kick back until obtaining clear running over the concluding stages and finished the race strongly in his opinion.

MYTH PRINT – Tightened for room between runners near the 800m and had to be steadied.

NOTHING BUT GOLD – Tightened for room shortly after the start and raced wide for the remainder of the event. Apprentice L. Tilley was reprimanded for his whip action.

SPINTHESONY – C. Bryen was dislodged after the winning post and was cleared by the QAS Staff to continue riding.


RACE 3: BROWN AND HURLEY NEWMARKET OPEN HCP – 1100M

GENERAL SORRISO – Jumped in at the start and made contact with another runner.

ASTRONOMER – Bumped by another runner at the start. Steadied from the heels of REGAL PRINCE, which shifted in marginally near the 600m and made contact with the running rail. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any significant findings.

REGAL PRINCE – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages of the event.

BRITISH BULLDOG – Raced wide during the early and middle stages of the event.

Following the running of race three, C. Bryen was stood down from riding for the remainder of today’s meeting by the attending QAS Staff with riding replacements made as per the stewards’ race day summary.

RACE 4: THE BILL & KJ COSTELLO MEMORIAL PLATE CLASS 4 HCP – 1200M

CONTRITE HEART – Began very awkwardly and was then bumped heavily by another runner resulting in apprentice M. Taylor being dislodged and suffering a harmless fall.

GARDER LA FOI – Was slow to begin.

ZIPOLITE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

WARCRUSHER – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

PARRAGUNDY – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

RACE 5: QDRC QUILPIE CUP OPEN HCP – 1350M

CRAWFISH – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground.

ELLIE LA VIE – Bumped another runner at the start.

BIG BAD JOEL – Bumped another runner at the start.

PRIVATE DOWNS – Had a tendency to layout throughout the event.


RACE 6: SANTOS BMK 60 HCP – 1350M

MAGIC GLENYCE – Jumped in and made contact with another runner.

HILDESHEIM – Resented the kick back during the early and middle stages.

STAND ‘N’ Stare – Tightened for room at the start and lost ground. Laid out rounding the first turn.

ANGEL OF ROCK – Bumped by another runner at the start becoming momentarily unbalanced.

QUANTUM SHADOW – Bumped by another runner at the start becoming momentarily unbalanced.

SAGACIOUS LADY – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Resented the kick back during the early and middle stages.
