Race 1: Wharton & Co QTIS Maiden Plate 1000 metres:
1st – CRAIGLEA SACHA 2nd – FIRST PAIGE 3rd – CRAIGLEA SWIFT 4th – RIVER RISING

RIALTO GUY was a late scratching at 12pm due to no rider being available.

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey A.Spradau to ride JUST PRETENDS 1kg over its declared weight.

CRAIGLEA SWIFT – Marginally slow to go.

RIVER RISING – Raced wide for the entirety of the event.

JUST PRETENDS – Was slow to begin. An initial post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which weakened noticeably over the concluding stages found the gelding to be displaying an elevated respiratory and heart rate. Upon returning to treat the horse a further veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have blood present in both nostrils. This could not be contributed to an external trauma therefore Trainer G.Wiles was advised the gelding will now undergo a mandatory 3 month suspension under AR53A(4) and will be required to gallop 1000m in the presence of stewards prior to resuming racing.

Race 2: SPAR Class 3 Plate 1100 metres:
1st – BEAUDRAGON 2nd – GUSTO 3rd – BROTHER BOB 4th – SETH

DON’T TALK SILLY, CLEVER ONE and MADAME GINOUX were all late scratchings at 12pm due to no rider being available.

BROTHER BOB – Marginally slow to go and raced wide rounding the home turn.

TEMPTING OFFER – Bumped at the start. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

BEAUDRAGON – Bumped at the start.

ALLOVER – Raced wide rounding the 800 metre turn.

ZIPPITY ZOU - Raced wide rounding the 800 metre turn.

Race 3: Pluto Brahmans Class B Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – WULFWIN 2nd – MURRUMBIDGEE 3rd – AMAZING MOSS 4th – SUBOSAMI

ROTHCOTE, SPURS ON and GRISWALD were all late scratchings at 12pm due to no rider being available.

GEARSTICK – Was injured in the float en route to the course and was a late scratching by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice at 1.15pm.

SUBOSAMI - Struck its off hind leg when leaving the enclosure. Underwent a veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Bumped at the start.

AMAZING MOSS – Shifted in abruptly on jumping.

WORLD MUSIC – Marginally slow to go. On entering the home straight was disappointed when attempting a narrow run to the inside of another runner. Upon returning to scale Jockey A.Spradau advised stewards the horse was disappointing in its finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor recovery rate and an elevated temperature. Trainer J.Morris advised it is his intention to spell the gelding.

WULFWIN – Bumped at the start. Raced wide for the entirety of the event. When questioned regarding the improved performance Jockey K.Ballard said the gelding appreciated being kept out of the kickback and being given clear running. The explanation was noted.

Race 4: Federal Palace Benchmark 70 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – TRAVEL IN STYLE 2nd – GOLDEN METEOR 3rd – EXCEEDED 4th – DIURNAL TIGER

TAP IN BIRDIE was a late scratching at 12pm due to no rider being available.

MORE THAN WILLING – Marginally slow to go.

GOLDEN METEOR – Slow into stride and shifted in at the start.

EXCEEDED - Raced wide rounding the home turn.

COURT ACTION - Raced wide rounding the home turn.

Race 5: Northwest Pumps & Power Benchmark 60 Handicap 1400 metres:
1st – WHAT THE HECK 2nd – MOSSALE 3rd – MOJAVE ROYALE 4th – KIEV

HUIT DAMES was a late scratching at 12pm due to no rider being available.

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to enable Jockey A.Spradau the rider of second placegetter, MOSSALE, to view the photo of the finish. Having done so he was satisfied with the judge's placings and correct weight was declared.

MOSSALE - Jumped awkwardly and was slow into stride.

WHAT THE HECK – Was slow to begin. Raced wide rounding the home turn.

MORE DUST – Held up for clear running in the early part of the straight.

VEE FORCE. – Stewards interviewed Trainer S.Royes regarding the disappointing finishing effort in the geldings two most recent starts. The trainer could offer no explanation for the gelding finishing last today after travelling comfortably until the home turn where the gelding weakened noticeably and failed to respond to Jockey T.Hill’s urgings. Trainer advised it was now his intention to drop the gelding back in distance at its next start. The explanation was noted.

Race 6: Richmond Livestock Transport The Celebration Open Handicap 1400 metres:
1st – ALL FIVES 2nd – DARCEY 3rd – SMOOTH GENERAL 4th – REVEL IN THE CHAOS

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey A.Spradau to ride DARCEY 4kg over its declared weight.

When no other rider was available stewards permitted Jockey D.Ballard to ride BRUNNER 2.5kg over its declared weight.

IRON METEORITE – Reluctant to load into the barriers. When questioned regarding the poor performance of the gelding Jockey S. Galvin explained that he had been instructed to ride the gelding vigorously in the early stages in an attempt to obtain a forward position. He said that after beginning well he rode his mount along with the whip in an endeavour to comply with his instructions and was able to obtain a leading position. However after passing the 800m his mount was under pressure and began to weaken thereafter and was most disappointing. Trainer Mr J Morris confirmed the instructions issued however expressed disappointment with the performance and said that in light of the poor performance the gelding would now be spelled.

REVEL IN THE CHAOS – Raced wide rounding the home turn.
