1st  -  PRINCE DAN  2nd  -  HEARTBREAK HARRY  3rd  -  MACHO TYCOON  4th  -  ELLE THE MODEL

Stewards considered an objection made by Apprentice J. Oliver, the rider of HEARTBREAK HARRY which finished second, against PRINCE DAN (Jockey A. Butler) being declared the winner, alleging interference over final 100 metres. After taking evidence from the parties involved, viewing the official patrol films, and acting on their own observations, stewards established that near the 100 metres HEARTBREAK HARRY, which was racing behind PRINCE DAN, was able to take advantage of a run to its inside and App Oliver was not denied that opportunity to ride his mount out. Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that any interference caused to HEARTBREAK HARRY warranted a reversal of the placings. Accordingly, the protest was dismissed and the judge's placings ordered to stand.

MISS ANNA - Jumped awkwardly out onto ABE'S BABY. Held up for clear running from the 300 metres. Went to the line without being fully tested.

Stewards questioned Apprentice J Brand as to whether there was an opportunity for her to restrain her mount in the middle stages.  Apprentice Brand stated that her instructions were to ease if unable to lead, however when taken on by NINETTE KAN (Jockey C. McIver) the two runners made contact on a number of occasions and as a result the mare raced keenly and she was unable to restrain her mount. Stewards noted the explanations. Senior jockey A.
