Race 2: DICK SULLIVAN MEMORIAL Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
Famus Fella – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Fashion Guru – Slow to begin. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey R. Fradd stated that his mount failed to travel throughout the event and was disappointing when asked for a finishing effort. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in both forelegs. Trainers representative M. Evens was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to accepting for a future race start.
 
Ferenzo – Slow to begin. Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
Scandina – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Money Travels – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination after competing within the past seven days and was passed fit to start. Raced in restricted room for a number of strides passing the 900m. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 3: TAB BREEDERS PLATE QTIS Two-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Plate 1050 metres
 
Bright And Ready – Commenced to buck shortly after jumping away. Trainer Mr G. Green was advised that BRIGHT AND READY would be required to trial prior to accepting for a future race start.
 
Pinocchio Lass – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Coriander – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced greenly under pressure in the straight.
 
Olympic Motto – Rider reported that his whip became entangled in his rein passing the 150m.
 
Race 4: CAPRICORNIA YEARLING SALES 2022 BREEDERS PLATE QTIS Two-Year-Old Colts 1050 metres
 
Twostone Lighter – Slow to begin. Rider reported that his mount laid in throughout, weakened noticeably over the concluding stages, but would derive benefit for the run.
 
Better Than Elvis – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: BROOKVALE UNION CHRISTMAS PARTY - SATURDAY 4
DECEMBER OPEN Handicap 1050 metres
 
Chezblack – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Taraki – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled bilaterally on the first occasion. Trainer Mr G. Green was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
Jay Jay – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.
 
Boss Baby – Trainer J McConachy advised of a change of tactics to attempt to settle further back if circumstances permit. Settled back. Overraced in the early and middle stages.

Race 6: BROOKVALE UNION GINGER BEER BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1500 metres
 
Hocked – Apprentice D. McGillivray was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m, three more than permitted. In determining penalty, stewards took into account that this was Apprentice McGillivray’s forth breach of this rule in the past twelve months.
 
Ollie's Stand – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Rock 'N' Sol – Slow to begin.
 
Matador – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Ruffin' It (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Commander's Watch – Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: GREAT NORTHERN ORIGINAL Class 3 Handicap 1050 metres
 
Big Jake – Raced wide throughout the event. Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
Santorini Summer – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Curvetta – Laid out rounding the home turn. Held up for clear running passing the 300m.
 
Hilflager – Rider could offer no explanation for the disappointing effort of the gelding. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Natural Emperor – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Heygeronimo – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 8: GREAT NORTHERN SUPER CRISP QTIS Three-Year-Old
Handicap 1050 metres
 
Agustawynd – Jumped away awkwardly shifted out contacting RED GADGET.

Race 9: KIDS CHRISTMAS AT THE RACES - FRIDAY 17 DECEMBER
Class 1 Handicap 1200 metres
 
Tabman – Jumped away awkwardly. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding Jockey C. Whiteley stated that from the wide barrier was forced to settle further forward then anticipated and would have been better suited racing further back with cover. He added that his mount began to weaken noticeably over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Legal Chance – Raced in restricted room approaching the 800m for a number of strides after being crossed by TABMAN.
 
Ventures Benir – Slow to begin.
 
Champagne At Dawn – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Navillus Excel – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Raced in restricted room for a number of strides passing the 400m.
 
Navarre – Rider C. Eaton was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m, three more than permitted. In determaining penalty, stewards took into account that this was Ms Eaton’s sixth breach of this rule in the past twelve months.
 
Motherlode – Trainer S. Rundle was fined $100 under the provision of AR106(1) for presenting the mare in the incorrect gear. Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages.
