GENERAL
Following the running of race one Jockey Ashley Butler was examined by the on course medical officers and stood down from his ride in race two to allow him to rehydrate.
 
Track upgraded to a Good 4 rating after the running of race 2.
 
 
Race 1: TAB Class 3 Plate 1819 metres
 
ARCTIC WOLF – Raced three wide early to obtain the lead at the 1500m.
 
MATADOR – Raced keenly during the early and middle stages
 
SOUTH PACIFIC (GB) – Began slowly. Raced three wide during the middle stages. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice Melea Castle was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m (1 more occasion than permitted).
 
GOLDEN ATHENA – Began awkwardly. Laid in from the 700m. Shifted out across the heels of SOUTH PACIFIC at the 500m.
 
MISHANI DREAMER – Raced keenly early when being restrained in the early stages.
 
 
Race 2: GREAT NORTHERN Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
CYCLONE BLACKIE – Bumped on jumping.
 
MADANCER – Bumped with OLSEN on jumping.
 
MR DEMOLITION – Hung in under pressure.
 
OSLEN (NZ) – Bumped on jumping.
 
SUPER ROOSTER – Declared rider Ashley Butler was replaced by Robbie Fradd. Slowly away.
 
TURF EDITION – Bumped with CYCLONE BLACKIE on jumping. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
KUKINTA – Jockey P Romeo reported that the mare felt awkward in her action during the run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to the offside pastern area.
 
PLAYING HOOKIE – Slow into stride. Hung in under pressure.
 
READY BY MIDNIGHT – A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to the mouth.
 
REGAL FIELD – Three wide throughout.
 
DEVIL KICK – Laid inwards for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 3: CWA CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1200 metres
 
 
KICK ON COMMAND – Began awkwardly.
 
NEW YORK WORLD – Shifted inwards marginally near the 200m tightening runners to the inside.
 
ANNAKURI – Hung in for the majority of the home straight.
 
RUTTO – Laid in under pressure near the 400m and had to be checked out across the heels of NEW YORK WORLD.
 
FARMER'S FRIEND – Began awkwardly.
 
HYPERION STAR (NZ) – Reared at the start losing noticeable ground.
 
TOP CEEDEE – Began awkwardly. Raced in restricted room near the 200m when FARMER’S FRIEND shifted inwards away from the heels of NEW YORK WORLD.
 
CHESTO'S DREAM – Raced wide throughout. Shifted wider near the 200m to obtain clear running.
 
GYPSY ROZAY – Over raced during the middle stages. Laid in over the concluding stages.
 
 
Race 4: INVESTED IN YOU BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1100 metres
 
STAR BANNER – Slow into stride. Improved onto heels and forced to steady near the 700m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils and as such STAR BANNER has been stood down for 3 months and until a satisfactory 1000m gallop in front of stewards.
 
PRINCE PLANET – Raced wide throughout.
 
BIGGER THAN THORN – Shifted out to obtain clear room near the 600m inconveniencing BONDURANT. Jockey Tasha Chambers was reminded of her obligations when shifting ground.
 
WALSHIE – Raced wide throughout. Laid in from the 700m. Jockey Adam Spinks was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m (1 more than permitted).
 
BONDURANT – Near the 600m momentarily placed in restricted room when BIGGER THAN THORN shifted out marginally.
 
 
Race 5: BOOK YOUR TABLE FOR CAULFIELD QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1050 metres
 
UNDER THE COVERS – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
STREET GLORY – Began awkwardly contacting PINOCCHIO LASS.
 
SWEET FANTASY – Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.Jockey T Brooker explained that the filly enjoyed a nice run-in transit and travelled well. Ms Brooker further added that the filly will continue to derive benefit from further racing and over more distance.
 
IKIGAI STAR – Held up for clear room in the early part of the home straight. Hung out under pressure over the final 400m.
 
MISHANI REBOUND – Raced wide without cover. Hung in for the majority. Apprentice Melea Castle was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m (1 more occasion than permitted) (10th offence).

POWER LOAD – Hung inwards in the early part of the home straight.
 
DOUBLE PROOF – Stood flat footed and lost considerable ground at the start.
 
PINOCCHIO LASS – Began awkwardly and bumped heavily at the start with STREET GLORY.
 
Race 6: CENTRE STATES SIGNS Class 2 Handicap 1050 metres
 
FIVE STAR DECANTER (NZ) – Bumped on jumping with ADDRESS UNKNOWN.

MY BOY SAM – Bumped at the start with POET’S GIRL.
 
HILFLAGER – Began awkwardly and was hampered soon after the start.
 
BRAZETTI – Slow to begin. Held up for a clear run in the early part of the home straight.

ADDRESS UNKNOWN – Bumped at the start with FIVE STAR DECANTER (NZ).
 
TOY BLAZE – Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
POET'S GIRL – Bumped with MY BOY SAM at the start. Raced wide for the majority.

HEYGERONIMO – Jumped in at the start hampering HILFLAGER.
 
MOZZIE CROWN – Slipped over in the mounting yard and underwent a pre-race veterinary examination. Cleared to start. Slow to begin.
 
Race 7: KELE PROPERTY GROUP RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap1500 metres
 
STAR OF LEON – Held up for a clear un in the early part of the home straight.
 
I'M THE BUSINESS (NZ) – Raced three wide early.
 
MISHANI TULIP – Slow to begin.
 
ZABCAN – Began awkwardly.
 
FRAZZLED – Slow to begin.
 
PHOENIX FLYER – Three wide for the majority. Laid in under pressure. Apprentice Melea Castle was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m (2 more occasions than permitted).
 
MOTHERLODE – Shifted out near the 550m to gain clear running and as a result had to be steadied off the heels of PHOENIX FLYER.
 
Race 8: ONSITE FLEET MAINTENANCE BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1500 metres
 
DEEP BREATH – Three wide early before obtaining a position behind the leaders near the 1000m. Apprentice Melea Castle was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m (1 more occasion than permitted) (11th offence). Ms Castle was advised that any further repetition of breaching this particular portion of the whip rules may attract a penalty by way of a suspension.

 
SHIJIN – Began awkwardly. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities.
 
SPIRIT ESPRIT – Tightened on jumping losing ground.

COACH – Began awkwardly. Connections explained that they attributed the apparent improved performance of the gelding to a significant drop in weight and due to the early speed, COACH was able to have a good run in transit. Connections further stated that the gelding’s most recent start had merit when beaten less than 4 lengths. Jockey Tasha Chambers was fined $200 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m (3 more than permitted).
 
TANGO TINO – Began awkwardly.
 
MACHINATE – Began awkwardly. Jockey Robbie Fradd was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m (1 more than permitted).
 
TONTEIN – Laid in for the majority of the home straight.
