Williams Race 1: TAB QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1100 metres SUNNYCOAST – Began awkwardly TRACK TALE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. CHUCKA DUMMY – Began awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. BRIGHT BEAN – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Tailed off from the 400m taking no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have sustained an abrasion to the off hind leg. Race 2: ST PADDY'S DAY TICKETS ON SALE OPEN Handicap 1400 metres MASTER JAMIE – Apprentice M. Castle was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip 6 times prior to the 100m. ABSOLUT ARTIE – Raced keen in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination at the request of the trainer revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer R. Vale was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to returning to racing. Mr Vale advised that the gelding would now be retired. STARSONIC – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Race 3: GREAT NORTHERN OPEN Handicap 1050 metres SUPERARE – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. KRAVITZ – Began awkwardly. BRAVE ENOUGH – Began awkwardly. Race 4: NEW LOOK FOR RJC Maiden Handicap 1050 metres GLOWSTICKS – Fractious in barrier. YAROOMBA – Began awkwardly. ESCAPED PRISONER – Slow to begin. Bumped by MADANCER shortly after the start. SWISS ELEMENT – Began awkwardly bumping MADANCER. MADANCER – Bumped by SWISS ELEMENT on jumping. Shifted out shortly after the start making contact with ESCAPED PRISONER. ROCK DREAMER (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight. Race 5: 5 BECOME A MEMBER TODAY BENCHMARK 65 Handicap1300 metres BAYERISCHE – Raced wide without cover in the early stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Jockey L. Tilley was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(i) for his consecutive use of the whip prior to the 100m. DEVIL KICK – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Tightened for room, checked and lost ground over the final stages when CANNY IMPACT shifted out. Apprentice M. Castle (the rider of CANNY IMPACT) pleaded guilty to a charge of carless riding under AR131(a) in that over the final stages she permitted her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of DEVIL KICK resulting in that runner being tightened for room, checked and lost ground. Apprentice Castle’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of nine (9) days to commence midnight 16/3/2023 and to conclude midnight 25/3/2023. CANNY IMPACT – Shifted out over the final stages tightening DEVIL KICK. MISTAKEN IDENTITY – Began awkwardly. HYPERION STAR (NZ) – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 6: ST PATS RACEDAY SATURDAY 18TH MARCH QTISThree-Year-Old Maiden Handica 1200 metres BEN STARS – Raced wide throughout. EL OF A SENORITA – Raced wide in the early stages before settling in a rearward position. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight. TORQUE ESPAGNA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. FITZROY PLAIN – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 7: CAPRICORNIA YEARLING SALES 2ND APRIL RATINGS BAND 0- 55 Handicap 1100 metres The start of this event was delayed when TOY WHITTY proved difficult to load. ADMIRAL ASH – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. ELECTRIC SPIRIT – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 900m, clipped the heels of MOONSCAPE and was forced to check placing its rider momentarily unbalanced. Tailed off from the 800m. Upon returning to scale Jockey T. Chambers advised after checking at the 900m, her saddle slipped and as a result she was unable to fully test her mount. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. MOONSCAPE – Commenced to weaken from the 900m taking no further competitive part in the event. Apprentice M. Castle advised that her mount felt awkward in its action throughout. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities Trainer S. Rundle was advised gelding would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to returning to racing. TOY WHITTY – Difficult to load. Bumped on jumping. ITSA CLAMITY – Raced wide throughout.
