GENERAL
Due to a shortage in riders available at todays meeting, late rider changes were made as per the stewards race day summary.
RACE 1: BATTLE OF ROMANI MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1000M
MISS AMABELLA – Tightened for room on jumping away and had to be checked. Steadied from the heels of another runner near the 100m and was forced to shift out wider on the track to obtain clear running.
CRAIG AND PEDRO - Tightened for room on jumping away and had to be checked. Laid in over the concluding stages. Rider reported at scales that the gelding raced greenly throughout the event.
DUBLEO DABBLE – Jumped out at the start making heavy contact with Miss Amabella.
DICK’S WHITTINGTON – Jumped in at the start making heavy contact with Craig And Pedro.
RACE 2: BATTLE OF GAZA BMK 70 HCP – 1000M
Correct weight was delayed when jockey J. Geppert, the rider of 2nd placed getter PLUMB BOB, was afforded the opportunity to view the patrol films to see whether he had grounds to lodge a protest against 1st placed MONTANUS for alleged interference near the 650m. After viewing the films available, jockey J. Geppert decided against lodging an objection and correct weight was declared on the judges numbers semaphored.
AMBER ALE – Was slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority. Rider reported at scale that her mount had a tendency to hang out during the middle stages of the event.
RAHULA – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
ASTRONOMER – Laid in near the 650m and again rounding the home turn.
MONTANUS – Forced inwards near the 650m when Astronomer laid in.
PLUM BOB – Eased from the heels of Montanus near the 650m.
RACE 3: BATTLE OF BEERSHEBA CLASS B HCP – 900M
Correct weight was delayed when apprentice Q. Krogh, the rider of ANSOUIS, made application to be declared a non-runner. After hearing submissions from Trainer B. Waldron and starter T. Sheehan, stewards under the provisions of AR 134A were satisfied that ANSOUIS was afforded a fair start, dismissing the application and subsequently declared correct weight on the judges numbers semaphored.
ANSOUIS – Became fractious in the barriers resulting in apprentice Q. Krogh losing an iron placing him at a significant disadvantage when the start was effected. Apprentice Q. Krogh then regathered said iron shortly after the start. Began awkwardly and lost ground.
I AM MCLOVIN – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
MAGIC RAELENE – Laid in over the concluding stages.
BLINKIN HASTY - Laid in over the concluding stages.
RACE 4: GALLIPOLI LANDING QTIS CLASS 2 HCP – 1200M
RED BERETTA – Eased from the heels of Exstratum, which shifted out shortly after the start and was then bumped by Autovon, which shifted out resulting in the gelding becoming momentarily unbalanced.
EXSTRATUM – Jumped out at the start.
AUTOVON – Shifted out shortly after the start bumping another runner and becoming momentarily unbalanced.
CAPTAIN SPUR – Crowded for room shortly after the start and had to be restrained.
JOKERMAN – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
