RACE 3 KIMLINS CAMPING WORLD CL 3 PLATE 1200M

ZAPATA FALLS- Slow into stride and lost ground in the early stages.

Trainer S Rogers questioned regarding the riding instructions for OGGIE ( C Bryen). Mr Rogers stated that the gelding was resuming from a let-up and felt that the 1200m would be too short.
His instructions were to settle back early and then find the line. He felt that OGGIE was held up by a runner when making his run and was happy with the way the horse finished off the race.
Jockey C Bryen told stewards that he settled back in the field and was positioned wider than he wanted. He was then held up behind another runner when starting his run. He added that on straightening he gave the horse several backhand hits with the whip and got into second place however at 100m he felt OGGIES run had ended. He then felt that he could not catch the leader and was holding down 2nd place easily so he did not continue riding the horse with the whip to the line. Stewards noted the explanations tendered by both parties however advised Jockey Byren that he is expected to fully test he mounts over the concluding stages so as to not leave his riding open to question by Stewards.

PLATTERS- Over raced in the middle stages.

BRITISH BULLDOG- Appr J Philpot questioned as to the reasons for BRITISH BULLDOG racing back in the field contrary to its normal forward racing pattern. Appr Philpot said that her instructions were to go forward however the gelding did not jump well and was slightly tightened just after jumping away causing BRITISH BULLDOG to race further back than she anticipated. Appr Philpot further advised that BRITISH BULLDOG then ran on fairly over the concluding stages. Explanation noted.

RACE 5 GOODYEAR ROMA TYRE & BATTERY BENCHMARK 55 1640M

SAILIA MAGIC- Blundered at the start.

DANES ROCKET-Bumped by another runner jumping away.
